SLOGA Ireland Chapter
Motto: That We May Be One

Seven past students of the St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria resident in Ireland came together to celebrate the 90th birthday of the Founding Principal of the School, Sr. The membership of the Assoc

iation is not discriminatory, but open to all past students of the School that are Irish or resident in Ireland at the time of seeking membership, and committed to upholding our aims and objectives. The Association is non-profit and not affiliated with any charitable, social, religious, economic or terrorist organisation. We aim to give back to the School, whilst promoting a deep sense of friendship, commitment and sisterhood among our registered members. The School is a foremost girls' only public secondary school founded in 1961 by the Sisters of St. Louis, SSL. It is noted for its' catholic ethos of discipline, diligence, hard work and high standards of academic attainment. The School was taken over by the Oyo State government in the early 1980s and has continued to provide top quality and affordable education to the girl child in the geographical region till date. It is now run as two schools, the Junior and the Senior and both are governed by the Oyo State Schools Governing Board. It is dearly referred to as Luwe by its products and friends. To give back to Luwe is our topmost goal. This page is our initiative to interact and keep ties with the School, Friends of the School, the past and current students and all other sister SLOGA groups. We crave your support in making a success of it as we welcome your updates and news in line with our aims and objectives.

Happy feast of St Louis βœοΈπŸ™.

Today, August 25, is St Louis Day, a day in which the Sisters of St Louis remember their founders, but also celebrate what it means to be a Sister of St Louis. On the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Sisters of St Louis in 1992, Sr MΓ‘irΓn Barrett RIP published a book called β€œWords to Live By”. In it, she outlined eight Key Words, which explains the essence of what the Sisters of St Louis are about. These are: Sint Unum, Truth, Family, Love, Providence, Childlikeness, Simplicity, and Give Freely, and can be traced right back to the early days of the Sisters of St Louis. For a brief history of the Sisters of St Louis, and to learn more about the founders of the Sisters of St Louis, check out the History section of the Sisters of St Louis website.
