Humans are the only creatures on Earth that must be "finished" by hand. We are the only species that must be intentionally prepared to function according to our true design.

Think about the natural world:
* Birds build intricate nests without a day in architecture school.

* Ants construct complex colonies without studying civil engineering.

* A calf learns to stand and walk within minutes—no training, no rehearsal, no instruction.

📖 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.

This distinction is revelatory. Purpose is not activated by biological instinct; it is activated by 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

From birth, everything that makes us "human" must be cultivated:
How to reason. How to relate. How to lead. How to work. Etc.

Without intentional learning, a human being does not merely underperform—they remain undeveloped and even brutish. The potential is internal, but education is the tool that draws it out.

Education is the most fundamental system in human civilization. But we must look beyond the academic. To be "finished," one requires a holistic architecture:
* 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: To sustain the weight of success.

* 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 & 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: To shape societies and sectors.

* 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: To create and manage value.

* 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: To find orientation in a chaotic world.

We see the tragedy of incomplete education everywhere: The financially wealthy person with no moral compass, or the materially accomplished leader who is inwardly fragmented and unfulfilled.

Before You Raise Funds, Rethink Your Strategy

In 2016, we raised our second round of funding for our waste management startup, Greenergy.
At the time, it felt like the best thing that could happen to us.

But two months later, I began to see what most founders never stop to ask:
Did we really need that money?

By 2017, Greenergy shut down — not because we ran out of cash, but because government policy changed overnight under Ambode’s administration.

And that’s when it hit me:
Funding isn’t oxygen — it’s a tool.

Too many founders in Africa think money will fix what strategy hasn’t solved.
But the truth is, no amount of capital can replace clarity.

Looking back, we didn’t need that second round.
What we needed was to:
• Redesign our revenue model
• Liquidate unproductive assets
• Restructure for scalability

If we had done that, we could have pivoted successfully — without the pressure of debt and investor expectations.

Here’s what experience taught me:
Sometimes what you need isn’t more capital, it’s more clarity.

Before you chase investors, ask yourself:

“Am I facing a funding problem or a strategy problem?”

Because many businesses don’t die from lack of money — they die from strategic obesity.

That’s one of the reasons I’m passionate about the work we do at Chirality Partners — helping founders and leaders uncover hidden value and build systems that scale sustainably.
