What is this?????
I'm so desperate for followers on my page Yoruba Root - Ijinle Èdè that I've started to think that even my cat has more friends than me!
I've begged friends, family, and even strangers, with a smile that could light up a room. "Abeg, follow my page, na beg I dey beg!" I'd say, with the desperation of a jollof rice addict. But all I get are pitying glances, awkward smiles, and a resounding... "I'll think about it" (which we all know means "no chance").
I've tried everything:
!! I've offered to follow them back (even if they only post pictures of their nose).
!! I've promised to share their content (even if it's a video of them dancing to Naira Marley's songs).
!!! I've even resorted to bribery (offering to buy them a cold glass of Chapman... or two... or ten).
But still, the followers keep reducing. It's like trying to get a Nigerian politician to keep their promise (lol, good luck with that!).
I've begun to feel like a roadside preacher, except instead of preaching the gospel, I'm preaching the good news of my page. "Follow me, and you shall receive a daily dose of Yoruba culture, history, and jokes! It's like having a plate of jollof rice, but without the calories!"
Alas, my efforts have been met with a resounding "no thanks." It's like I'm asking them to dash me their last N500 which is capital No
So, if you see me wandering the streets, with my page link in hand, looking like a lost puppy, just know that I'm on a mission to get those followers.
And to all my people out there, I beg of you, in the name of God PLEASE FOLLOW MY PAGE! Root - Ijinle Ede It's like giving me a cold glass of water on a hot Lagos day – it'll bring me so much joy!

The Humble Basket: A Timeless Treasure
In the olden days, baskets were an essential part of daily life. Long before the invention of modern containers and bags, people relied on baskets to carry, store, and transport goods.
It is made from natural materials like bamboo and baskets were sturdy, versatile, and eco-friendly.
People used baskets for various purposes;
- Gathering and carrying fruits, vegetables, and grains
- Storing food, clothes, and household items
- Transporting goods to marketplaces and trade centers
- Even as cradles for babies!
Baskets were also a symbol of cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
As we move forward in time, let's appreciate the humble basket's significance in our history and the important role it played in our ancestors' daily lives.
This will make your day. #
