*TEXT: PSALM 73:1*
*TOPIC: TRULY GOD IS GOOD TO ISREAL*

The word "Israel" in the Bible holds a dual meaning. Primarily, it refers to the descendants of Jacob, chosen by God to be His special people. However, it also carries a spiritual connotation, representing all those who have entered a covenant relationship with God through faith. In this sense, "Israel" signifies God's redeemed people. By faith we are made to become sons and daughters of the household of God, for as many as those believe in him, to them gave He power to become the son of God (John 1:12)
The first sentence of today's text says "Truly God is good to Isreal" This statement shows God's unwavering goodness towards "Isreal, His redeemed" This goodness encompasses His:
*Merciful love:* God's undeserved favor showers blessings upon His people, even when they don't deserve it. (Ephesians 2:4-5)
*Faithfulness to His promises:* God keeps His covenants and fulfills His promises to those who trust Him. (Deuteronomy 7:9)
*Provision and protection:* He cares for His people's needs and guides them through life's challenges. (Psalm 23)
The latter part of the verse clarifies that God's goodness is particularly evident in the lives of those "who are pure in heart." A pure heart signifies:
*Sincerity and Integrity:* A genuine desire to live according to God's will and principles. (Psalm 86:11)
*Absence of Malice:* Freedom from harboring anger, resentment, or evil intentions towards others. (Matthew 5:8)
*Devotion to God:* A heart set on loving and worshipping God above all else. (Matthew 22:37).
To have this clean heart, you'd do the following:
*Confession and Repentance:* Acknowledge and turn away from your sins, seek forgiveness from God and others. (Proverbs 28:13)
*Renewing your Mind:* Immerse yourself in God's word, allow the scripture to transform your thoughts and desires. (Romans 12:2)
*Surrender to the Holy Spirit:* Ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse your heart and guide you towards living a life pleasing to God. (Romans 8:29)

* Thank the Lord for redemption through Jesus Christ, and making us partakers of the Abrahamic convenant
* Oh Lord purge me and create a clean heart in me, Wash me and I'd be clean!
