Prayer is not man’s attempt to change the will of God. Prayer is not conquering God’s reluctance to answer, but laying hold of His willingness to help.

Prayer in the life of the true believer is an act of total confidence and assurance in the plan and purpose of God.

“…for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him.” - Matthew 6:8b.

WHY GO ON PERSONAL RETREATS?

“The Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” – Matthew 11:12.

DO YOU KNOW?
There is no better way to pursue God than to retreat from the everyday, soul numbing distractions of the world and allow Him to rekindle you with fire and passion for Him, His will, and His people.

Don’t make excuses. Make ways. Recognize the distractions for what they truly represent: attacks from the enemy. Satan understands the power of retreats and fasting. He knows what they mean in the heavenly realms. They mean advancement of God’s ground in the Kingdom. They mean strengthening the every-weary believer. They mean buffering one into a master warrior, skillful with the sword of the Spirit. The principalities of darkness will make every attempt to distract you to make plans over your call to retreat for God.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12.

Believe me, there will be forces working against you to prevent your commitment and dedication to the Lord in planning a retreat with Him. Rest assured however, the rewards are astounding—the spiritual rewards inexplicable.

FROM THE HALL OF FAITH:
*Abel received the testimony that he was righteous through his faith (Hebrews 11:4).
*Enoch obtained the witness that he was pleasing to God through his faith (Hebrews 11:5).

Being righteous and pleasing to God are synonyms. We can be both righteous and pleasing to God through our faith. Without it, we cannot please Him. To have faith, we must BELIEVE THAT HE IS AND THAT HE IS A REWARDER OF THOSE THAT SEEK HIM (Hebrews 11:6).

To SEEK Him, we must be in a constant state of SEARCHING, like one who HUNGERS and THIRSTS for RIGHTEOUSNESS.

When we dedicate time specifically for the Lord away from others, we seek Him with all our heart, mind, and soul (Mark 12:30). When we deny ourselves, we become a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).

CLOSING THOUGHTS ON RETREATS – PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
They intensify and accelerate my pursuit of God.
They refresh and renew my weary spirit.
They sharpen my responsiveness to receive revelation from God.
They have been time of receiving divine guidance for specific situations.
God has honored them by revealing hidden things.
They have brought clarity into God’s ways and works.
When I have felt “stuck” spiritually, retreats have helped me to cross new thresholds in God.

ANOTHER YEAR IS DAWNING

Another year is dawning: Dear Father, let it be,
In working or in waiting, Another year with Thee;
Another year of Progress, Another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, Of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness In the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning Upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, Of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, Of witness for Thy love;
Another year of training For holier work above.
Another year is dawning: Dear Father, let it be,
On earth or else in heaven, Another year for Thee.

How amazing to know that the believer can get whatever he desires...

How amazing to know that the believer through his prayer can make tremendous power available...

How amazing it will be to explore in great depths THE POWER OF PRAYER...

For the Bible says...

"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]." - Mark 11:24 [KJV]•

"I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours." - Mark 11:24 [NLT]•

"That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything." - Mark 11:24 [MSG]•

ON FALSE TEACHINGS

While growing up, I had thought that false teachings or false doctrines are religious teachings or preachings that originate solely from the devil or demons, and intentionally targeted to deceive Christians or to antagonize godly teachings.

However, on studying the Bible, I discovered that this idea was largely deficient. While Biblical doctrine refers to teachings that align with the revealed Word of God (the Bible), false doctrine or false teaching is any idea that adds to, takes away from, or contradicts the doctrine given in God's Word (the Bible).

If you have repeatedly studied the Bible, especially the New Testament, you will discover that, dealing with false doctrines and false teachings was a major torn in the flesh for the early churches in the various locations represented in the New Testament. This we see evidently being talked about repeatedly by the Apostles in virtually all the Epistles.

I discovered that false doctrines and false teachings were a big problem in the early church, because, there was not yet a complete New Testament (compiled scriptures) to guide them. They didn't have a complete New Testament scripture to show everyone of them what the correct doctrines of Christianity are.

Because of this, several people taught what they assumed should be the doctrines of Christianity, which on several occasions were wrong, necessitating the Apostles to write letters to correct such wrong teachings, while giving them the correct teachings.

If we now know that false doctrine or false teaching is any idea that adds to, takes away from, or contradicts the doctrine given in the Bible, it means that anything you teach from the Bible that is incorrect, or anytime you add to the Bible what it didn't say or mean, you have taught a false doctrine or false teaching.

This means that ignorance of the truth of the Bible, or not being properly skilled in correct reading, correct interpretation and right exposition (teaching) of the Bible, qualifies you to be called a false teacher in a way. That sounds big, but it's just the simple truth.
