RIGOR MORTIS ⚰️
Rigor mortis is the postmortem stiffening of body muscles caused by chemical changes, specifically the depletion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which leaves muscles locked in a contracted state. It begins 2–4 hours after death, starting with smaller muscles (face, neck) before affecting the entire body, peaking around 12–24 hours, and fading after 36–48 hours.
Mechanism ⚙️
Upon death, oxygen ceases to reach muscles, halting ATP production. Without ATP, myosin filaments cannot detach from actin filaments, resulting in irreversible fixation of muscles until decomposition breaks down the proteins.
Clinical/Forensic Significance 🔬:
Time of Death (TOD): Used to estimate the postmortem interval.
Body Positioning: Muscles freeze in the position the body was in at the time of death.
Examination: It is assessed by attempting to flex or extend joints (e.g., jaws, limbs) during examination.
Duration: It is a temporary phase that eventually reverses as decomposition sets in, causing muscles to become flaccid again.

The way she milk the bullet ant is very cool, just like you're milking a snake, letting the ant sting something and collecting the venom. But dissecting insect? Bro!! That's incredible.

You’ll know it if you get stung by a bullet ant (Paraponera clavata), a species named for the fact that the pain from its venom feels like it’s been inflicted by a gun shot. Some insect bites are unpleasant but short-lived experiences – not this one.
we are still learning about "Bullet Ant" and things related to it in our environment and what to know and understand about them. We'll talk about their description, their taxonomy, their location, how dangerous they are and part of their lifestyle. Anticipate the next post, kindly follow, like and share ❤️🐜

⚡Did you know your body communicates using electricity?
Every thought, movement, and emotion begins as a tiny electrical signal traveling through neurons — your body’s high-speed messengers. 🧠✨
When one neuron wants to “talk” to another, it sends an impulse that jumps across a microscopic gap called a synapse, using special chemicals known as neurotransmitters.
That’s how your brain tells your hand to move, your eyes to blink, and your heart to beat — all in milliseconds. 💡
The human nervous system is a living circuit board — complex, powerful, and beautifully designed.
