*NUESA POLLS: CAUTION TO ALL ASPIRANTS*

The Council in her last plenary held on Friday, August 06, 2021 and in her previous resolution cautioned Educators who aspire to contest in the forthcoming NUESA polls to avoid all forms of electioneering campaigns until the ban is lifted by the Electoral commission. This is in accordance with Article 9, sections 3&4 of the NUESA Constitution (as amended) and item no. (vii) of 2019 ESEC Electoral Law.

Unfortunately, we observed that some set of persons have deliberately and openly acted in total disobedience to this order and constitutional provisions. The council finds this act as lawless and unfortunate; this has the tendency to undermine efforts to prepare for a free, fair and well organized poll.

Meanwhile, the identities of such defaulting aspirants have been documented and well noted. Subsequently, NUESA and its concerned arm shall take necessary actions against these defaulters and their enablers. There shall be consequences to bear for such actions.

To avoid further sanctions, we strongly advise the suspension of all election campaigns till the ban is lifted by the electoral commission. The concerned persons are also advised to carefully study the electoral provisions in Article 9 of NUESA Constitution (as amended).
