UDMAR MONTHLY VISITATION UPDATE

Alhamdu liLlãh, our mission of service continues.

As we approach the end of this month, we are preparing for another visitation to the Correctional Centre. This time, by the will of Allãh, our outreach will extend even further. After our visit there, we intend to proceed to UCH to support patients by assisting with hospital bills—if Allãh grants us sufficient funds through your generosity.

For the inmates, we plan to provide essential items including foodstuffs, sanitary pads, and other basic needs—small acts that carry great comfort and dignity.

And as we look ahead, by the end of May, our visitation will be dedicated to the Motherless Children’s Home, where love and care are needed just as deeply.

We are also delighted to share uplifting developments in our humanitarian journey:

• Makkah Specialist Eye Hospital, Ibadan has officially joined our outreach efforts. They have committed to visiting the Correctional Centre to provide free eye care services, including consultations, medications, glasses, and even surgeries where necessary. This is a tremendous blessing and a major step forward in addressing critical health needs.

• Additionally, a dedicated medical professional, Mr. Abdul Fatahi A.A. – The Director of Medical Laboratory Services, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board & CEO/MD HAMFAT MEDICAL LABORATORIES – has volunteered his expertise purely for the sake of Allãh. He has pledged long-term support to our programs by offering laboratory diagnostic services and donating essential testing materials such as Malaria RDT kits and glucose testing supplies. This will greatly enhance the quality and impact of our medical outreaches.

All of this is only possible through collective effort and sincere intention. We humbly invite you to be part of this goodness. Your support, no matter how small can bring relief, restore hope, and change lives.

DEAR MUSLIM BUSINESS OWNERS

It is disappointing that some Muslim business owners proudly share customised gifts with customers every December, beautifully inscribed “Happy New Year,” calling it a seasonal gesture.

Yet during the blessed month of Ramadan, many of them never think of appreciating their customers with even a simple gift saying “Ramadan Mubãrak.”

As Muslims, this should make us reflect on our priorities. If we can celebrate other seasons so enthusiastically, how can we neglect the most blessed season in our own faith?

However, it is not too late. With about 9–10 days left in Ramadan, there is still an opportunity to correct this and honour the spirit of this sacred month.

Let us be mindful - rejoicing in non-Muslim festivals to the extent of exchanging celebratory gifts is a serious matter in Islam. May Allãh guide us to uphold our identity and values diligently. 🤲🏽

THE TINY SERVANT AND THE UNGRATEFUL HEART

Consider the honeybee, a minute creation of Allãh, woven into the fabric of the Earth with a singular, selfless purpose. From its first flight to its final breath, the bee does not toil for the lower animals, nor does it labour for the hidden world of the Jinns. It does not even store its golden treasure solely for its own kind.

Instead, it spends its entire life in tireless service to mankind, a species that often forgets the very Hand that provides. While the bee silently obeys its Lord, humans are frequently found in a state of complaint, questioning the decrees of their Creator and overlooking the miracles nestled in their daily lives.

Allãh acknowledges the bee's divine inspiration and its benefit to us in the Glorious Qur’an: "And your Lord inspired the bee: 'Build your homes in the mountains, the trees, and in what they build. Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord made easy [for you].' There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought." Sûratun Nahl (The Bee), Qur’an 16:68-69

We often wait for "big" miracles to say Alhamdu liLLãh, yet we breathe thousands of times a day without effort. If we cannot appreciate the small - the sting of a bee that leads to healing, or the sweetness of its honey that cures - how can we ever hope to grasp the magnitude of the "huge"? And with Allãh is the ocean of uncounted favours.

The mercy of Allãh is not a pool; it is an unquantifiable ocean. As Allãh reminds us of our own limitation in perceiving His generosity: "And if you should count the favours of Allãh, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allãh is Forgiving and Merciful." Sûratun Nahl (Qur'an 16:18)

This is a question for the soul in Sûratur Rahmãn, the "Bride of the Qur’an," Allãh repeats a piercing question that serves as both a reminder and a gentle rebuke for our ingratitude: "So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny?" Sûratur-Rahmãn, Qur’an 55:13 (and repeated throughout)

When we look at the world - from the cosmic dance of the stars to the diligent work of the tiny bee - we see a universe in submission. Perhaps it is time we trade our complaints for contemplation and our ingratitude for awe.
