The Burden We Have Been Trained To Carry.

As a trained counseling psychologist, one of our professional competence is the ability to repress whatever that we are going through, and to attend to the need of our client(s), this is not what anybody can do, and that’s why we always say that counseling is beyond advice given, it’s emphatic in nature.

Last week Friday, I wanted to cancel my weekly show on Ibadan Radio, The Counsel with ‘Kayode Ajani, I had returned from Abeokuta on Thursday, I was tired and had a lot of things running through my head, still, I had to put the interest of my listeners first.

Most times, we forget that encourager also need encouragement, instead we see some people as if they don’t even have needs, most times, we see them as a complete or perfect human, and this has drive a lot of young people to early grave.

The last few weeks has been tough for me, just like every other Nigerians out there, trying to navigate through life, the only thing that has keep us going is HOPE, and we have become a preacher of HOPE while putting in the efforts.

In the past few days while in my down moment, I still put on a smiling face to the camera, just to make every moment count.

During the down moment, I received a couple of Guidance request, and this is where the saying that Counseling is not what anybody can do.
You know when you have to listen to people’s story, and provide therapy or alternative where necessary, and you yourself might be passing through similar phase, and after the session, you remember yours, pick up tissue paper, wipe your tears and say to yourself that this phase will definitely pass.

Similarly, someone booked a session with me some days ago, well, I still provide most of my Counseling session for free for now. He even wanted to hijack me, because I was the one that called to check on him, (that’s one of the capacity that we must build) even in my down moments, I still call people to check on them. I called and he was like, he has wanted to call me too, and have a discussion on certain things, immediately, I told him to let’s connect back on so so so date, the date came, and I wasn’t feeling like connecting the call again, immediately, I say to myself, this is the burden we have been trained to carry. So, I placed a call through to him and the session happened.
Most times, people just need who they can confined in, vulnerable with, and discuss whatever that’s doing them, after which they have a free mind and become healthy, still it’s not what anybody can do.

Lastly, one of my lecturers in OAU called me on Saturday, the call was timely and therapeutic, he said he just watched one of my videos on Facebook, that I should keep it up, and we also had some other discussion.
This lecturer has been consistent with checking up on some of us, and as I told him, it’s the joy of a teacher to see his student(s) excel and put into use what he taught them.

This week, I want to encourage someone out there, don’t be discouraged with your current situation, keep showing up, keep doing that thing you love doing even if it’s not paying as it should, believe in the process, and at the end, you will win.

Keeping the hope alive while making efforts & believing in the process.

Maintaining hope fuels our efforts, turning challenges into opportunities and setbacks into lessons. Each endeavor, no matter how small, contributes to the journey forward.

In the journey of life, every individual encounters a myriad of challenges, from the mundane to the extraordinary. It is in these moments of trial and tribulation that the flame of hope becomes both a guiding light and a source of resilience. Keeping the hope alive while making efforts is not just a mindset; it's a powerful force that can transform everyday struggles into opportunities for growth.

In our journey through the complexities of daily life, we are confronted with setbacks, uncertainties, and obstacles that can easily dim the spark of optimism. Whether it's pursuing a career, navigating relationships, or overcoming personal hurdles, the need to believe in the process and hope for a fruitful result is paramount.

In the face of everyday challenges, maintaining hope becomes a conscious choice. It requires cultivating a positive mindset, seeking inspiration from past successes, and surrounding oneself with a supportive network. By acknowledging the difficulties but refusing to be defined by them, we can harness the power of hope to endure, adapt, and ultimately thrive.

One of the fundamental aspects of this journey is recognizing that challenges are an integral part of the human experience. Each hurdle, no matter how daunting, offers a chance for self-discovery and growth. It is in the face of adversity that our character is tested, and our ability to persevere comes to the forefront.

Believing in the process involves embracing the idea that success is not always instantaneous. Rome was not built in a day, and similarly, our goals and aspirations often require time, effort, and patience. It's essential to view setbacks not as failures, but as stepping stones on the path to achievement. Every endeavor is a process, and within that process lies the potential for transformation.

Furthermore, recognizing the interconnectedness of effort and hope reinforces the idea that our actions contribute to shaping our destiny. Effort without hope may lead to burnout, while hope without effort remains a mere wish. The synergy between the two creates a dynamic force that propels individuals forward, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

I congratulate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at our party primaries and his emergence as the Presidential Candidate and Flagbearer of our great party, the APC for the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Elections.

I also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and all leaders of the APC for a successful Special Convention and Presidential Primary.

For many decades, our Flagbearer has shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building. His sterling contributions to our democracy and its progress stand him out. His wealth of experience will certainly be critical in our party’s continued efforts to attain a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

To all members of our great party, regardless of who you voted for at the primaries, we must now unite behind our Presidential Candidate and Flagbearer to ensure victory for our party in the 2023 elections.

As true progressives, we must remain strong and united in pursuing our collective vision as a party toward building a country that can provide a decent life and livelihoods for all our people.

The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof Ishaq Oloyode, on Friday in Kano said the board had so far registered not fewer than 1.4 million candidates across the country for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

He reminded candidates that there would be no extension of the March 26 deadline for the UTME registration.

Oloyode said this while ascertaining the level of preparedness and facilities at the Kano zonal office of the board.

According to the JAMB boss, the board will not succumb to any pressure to extend the UTME registration, pointing out that it had fulfilled all the requirements for a hitch-free registration of prospective candidates.

‘’My mission in Kano is to assess the level of registration. There is no crowd at the centres; the registration is going on smoothly, but the board is worried that towards the end of the exercise, people will be clamouring for an extension,” he stated
