Flashback from the last weekly usrah ✨📖

📆 Date: Tuesday, 19th May 2026
🌡 Lecturer: Brother Ridwanullah Mustapha
🪄 Topic: Life Story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S)
🕋 Venue: Islamic Mission School, Bode

The lecture on the life story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was inspiring and educative, highlighting important lessons about faith, patience, obedience, and total trust in Allah.

Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him), known as Khalilullah (the Friend of Allah), was raised in a society filled with idol worship. His people carved idols with their own hands and worshipped them instead of worshipping Allah alone. Despite growing up in such environment, Allah guided him to recognize the truth. He reflected deeply on the creations around him and realized that the idols could neither speak, help nor harm anyone. Allah guided him to the truth and chose him as a prophet. As he grew older, He began to preach Tawheed, calling his people to worship Allah alone, but many refused to listen to him.

To demonstrate the helplessness of the idols, when people went out for an occasion and were away from the town, Prophet Ibraheem entered the place where the idols were kept and destroyed all of them except the biggest idol. When the people returned and saw what had happened, they became angry and questioned Prophet Ibrahim about who destroyed their idols. He told them to ask the biggest idol who destroyed others if it could speak, making them realize for a moment that the idols they worshipped were powerless. However, many of them still remained stubborn and refused to accept the truth. His people decided to punish him by throwing him into a large fire. However, Allah commanded the fire to become cool and safe for him and he came out of the fire unharmed. This event showed the greatness of Allah and strengthened the faith of the believers.

The lecture also discussed the story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S), his wife Hajar, and their son Prophet Ismail (A.S). By Allah’s command, Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) left them in the desert of Makkah, where Hajar desperately searched for water between the hills of Safa and Marwah. During this difficult moment, Allah miraculously caused the blessed water of Zamzam to gush forth from the earth beside Prophet Ismail (A.S) as he struck the ground with his feet. This event later became one of the important rituals of Hajj.

Another major lesson from the lecture was the test of sacrifice. When Allah commanded Ibrahim (A.S) to sacrifice Ismail (A.S), Both father and son submitted willingly to Allah’s command, and Allah replaced Ismail with a ram before the sacrifice took place. This event reflects complete obedience, patience, and faith in Allah.

In conclusion, the lecture taught that Muslims should always trust Allah, remain patient during trials, and stand firmly upon the truth. It also reminded everyone that sacrifice and obedience for the sake of Allah are signs of sincere faith, while shirk and idol worship remain among the gravest sins in Islam. The life of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) continues to serve as a powerful example of courage, steadfastness, and devotion to Allah.

Eid is more than just new clothes, delicious food, and festive gatherings. It is a day of gratitude, reflection, and obedience to Allah. After the spiritual journey of Ramadan, Eid comes as a reward and a moment of joy wrapped in worship.

As Muslims, even our celebrations are guided, as beautifully taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , ensuring that our happiness remains meaningful and blessed.

With this in mind, the etiquettes of Eid include:

1. Performing ghusl before going out.

2. Wearing one’s best (modest) clothes.

3. Eating before the Eid prayer (for Eid al-Fitr).

4. Reciting the takbeer on the way to the prayer ground.

5. Attending the Eid prayer.

6. Taking different routes to and from the prayer ground.

7. Exchanging greetings and prayers, such as “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum.”

8. Maintaining good character throughout the day.

9. Visiting family and strengthening ties.

Remember, Eid is not merely a celebration but an extension of our worship. Therefore, by observing these etiquettes, we elevate our joy into acts of devotion and ensure that our celebration remains pleasing to Allah.

Eid Mubaarak! 🥳🤍
Taqabballallahu minnaa wa minkum 🤲🤗

THE CONCEPT OF ZAKAATUL-FITR

Zakaatul-Fitr is a special charity that every Muslim must give at the end of Ramadan before the Eid prayer. It serves as a purification for the fasting person and a means of supporting the poor so that everyone can share in the joy of Eid.

The obligation of Zakaatul-Fitr was established by the Prophet ﷺ. It was narrated that Abdullah ibn Umar reported that Prophet Muhammad made Zakaatul-Fitr compulsory for every Muslim, male and female, young and old, free and slave and commanded that it be given before people go out for the Eid prayer.

PURPOSE OF ZAKAATUL-FITR

Zakaatul-Fitr carries deep wisdom and benefits in Islam:

1. Purification of the Fast
During Ramadan: A fasting person may fall into minor mistakes such as idle talk or small acts of negligence. Zakaatul-Fitr cleanses the fast from these shortcomings.

2. Helping the Poor and Needy: It ensures that the less privileged members of society have enough to eat and can celebrate Eid with dignity and happiness.

3. Strengthening Social Solidarity: By sharing with others, Muslims reinforce compassion, unity, and care within the community.

WHO MUST PAY ZAKAATUL-FITR

Zakaatul-Fitr is obligatory upon every Muslim who possesses enough food for themselves and their dependents on the night and day of Eid. The head of the household should give it on behalf of those under their care, including children.

WHAT SHOULD BE GIVEN

Zakaatul-Fitr should be given in form of staple food commonly eaten in the community, such as rice, wheat, beans, and the likes. The amount prescribed is one Ṣāʿ (approximately 12 tin cups ).

TIME OF PAYMENT

The correct time to give Zakaatul-Fitr is before the Eid prayer. It can be given a day or two before Eid, but delaying it until after the Eid prayer makes it ordinary charity rather than Zakaatul-Fitr.

In essence, Zakaatul-Fitr is a beautiful conclusion to Ramadan; a charity that purifies the soul, completes the fast, and fills the hearts of the needy with joy.

As Ramadan comes to an end, don’t forget the final obligation that completes your fast — Zakatul-Fitr.

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ obligated Zakatul-Fitr as a purification for the fasting person from idle talk and obscene speech, and as food for the poor. Whoever gives it before the Eid prayer, it is accepted as Zakat; and whoever gives it after the prayer, it is merely charity among charities.”

Zakatul-Fitr purifies our fasting from its shortcomings and ensures that those in need can also share in the joy of Eid.

Make sure you give your Zakatul-Fitr before the Eid prayer, so that your fasting is completed and accepted, by the permission of Allah.

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and charity, and allow us to witness many more Ramadans. 🤲🌙

Ramadan may be ending, but our worship should never end.

Allah says: “And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).” (Qur’an 15:99)

Throughout Ramadan, many of us increased in prayer, recited more Qur’an, gave charity, and remembered Allah more often. But the true success of Ramadan is not just what we did during the month — it is what continues after it.

Allah is not only the Lord of Ramadan. He is the Lord of every day, every night, and every moment of our lives.

Let the habits you built this Ramadan remain with you.
Let the Qur’an stay in your hands.
Let your prayers remain strong.
Let your heart stay connected to Allah.

Continue worshipping Allah consistently until the day we return to Him.

May Allah make us among those who remain steadfast even after Ramadan. 🤲

Still waiting for the answer to the du‘ā you made this Ramadan? Don’t lose hope.

Allah says: “So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allah is true. And do not let those who lack certainty discourage you.” (Qur’an 30:60)

During this blessed month, many hearts turned to Allah in sincere supplication. Hands were raised, tears were shed, and hopes were placed before the One who hears every whisper.

But answers to du‘ā do not always come immediately. Sometimes Allah answers instantly, sometimes He delays it for a better time, and sometimes He replaces it with something greater.

So remain patient. Remain certain. And never think your du‘ā went unheard.

Allah’s promise is true, and He answers every sincere call in the best way and at the perfect time. 🤲

15/03/2026

Ramadan is almost over… but what has changed within you?

Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable.”

As the blessed month draws to a close, take a moment to reflect.

Ramadan was never meant to pass through our lives without leaving a mark on our hearts.

Before this month ends, pause… reflect… and ask yourself: Did Ramadan change me for the better?

May Allah accept our efforts and make us among those who truly benefit from Ramadan. 🤲

14/03/2026

Sometimes we make du‘ā’ and wonder why the answer hasn’t come yet. But in Islam, every sincere supplication is heard and rewarded by Allah in ways we may not always see.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “There is no Muslim who supplicates to Allah with a supplication that contains no sin and no severing of family ties except that Allah gives him one of three things: either He hastens the response to his supplication, or He stores it for him in the Hereafter, or He averts from him a similar evil.” They (the companions) said: “Then we will increase in supplication.” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “Allah is greater (in giving).”

This means no du‘ā’ is wasted or lost. Every prayer you whisper in the night to Allah brings a response in one way or another.

So on these blessed nights, keep making du‘ā’ without hesitation. Ask Allah for forgiveness, mercy, guidance, and goodness in this life and the next.

13/03/2026

While many sleep through the night, there are those who rise quietly, leaving the comfort of their beds to stand before their Lord. These are the moments when hearts are sincere and the connection with Allah is strongest.

Allah says: “Their sides forsake their beds; they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend out of what We have provided them.” (Qur’an 32:16)

This verse beautifully describes those who sacrifice their sleep to remember Allah by standing in prayer with fear of His punishment and hope in His mercy, while also giving from what He has blessed them with.

In these final nights of Ramadan, try to rise even for a few moments in the night. A sincere du‘ā’ and quiet remembrance can bring you closer to Allah than you imagine.

May Allah make us among those who stand in the night seeking His mercy and acceptance.

12/03/2026

As the last ten nights of Ramadan unfold, every moment becomes more precious. These are the nights when the righteous push themselves harder in worship, seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and the blessing of Laylatul-Qadr.

Sufyan Ath-Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “When the last ten nights arrive, the righteous increase greatly in their efforts.”

These nights are not like the others. They are a chance to stand longer in prayer, make more du‘ā’, seek forgiveness from Allah, give charity, and remember Allah more than before.

Follow the example of the righteous by increasing your effort, strengthening your intention, and making the most of these blessed nights.

May Allah grant us the strength to worship Him sincerely and allow us to witness the blessings of Laylatul-Qadr.
