In the heart of the Yorùbá forest, there was a beautiful tree known as the Igi Ọgbọ́n (Tree of Wisdom). It was said that anyone who could speak to the tree in its native tongue would receive a golden leaf that brought success in everything they touched.
Ìjàpá (the tortoise) wanted that leaf! He walked up to the tree and shouted in English, "Give me a leaf!" The tree stayed silent. He tried again in broken Yorùbá, "Fún mi... leaf!" Still, nothing happened. 🤫
Just then, a young boy named Táyé walked up. He had spent time learning the culture and the deep melodies of the language. With a respectful bow, he said:
"Ebi ń pa mí, mo fẹ́ jẹ nínú ọgbọ́n rẹ, dákun fún mi ní ewé kan." 🍃

​But Ìjàpá became greedy. 🤫 He hid the drum in the forest so he wouldn't have to share. When he tried to play it alone, instead of food, out came a swarm of bees! 🐝💨 They chased him until he learned his lesson: blessings are meant to be shared.
