REPORT ON “PLANT-FOR-THE-PLANET” COMMUNITY RALLY AT AL ALEEM GROUP OF SCHOOLS

📅 Date: 9th December, 2025

On the 9th of December 2025, Al Aleem Group of Schools held a vibrant community-wide rally in support of the Plant-for-the-Planet initiative. The event aimed to raise awareness on the value of afforestation and discourage the harmful effects of deforestation. Students, teachers, and community members actively participated, showing strong dedication to protecting the environment.

✍️ Key Objectives of the Rally

✍️Raise awareness about the dangers and long-term impact of deforestation.
✍️Encourage tree planting within the school and across the community.
✍️Strengthen collaboration between the school and its surrounding environment in promoting sustainable practices.

Participants marched with placards bearing messages like “Plant a Tree, Save the Earth” and “Stop Deforestation,” drawing attention to the urgent need for environmental protection. Inspiring speeches were delivered, and tree seedlings were distributed to promote immediate action.

*First Presentation: Halal Business Models for School Funding*

*Alhamdulillah*, after Subh prayer, personal hygiene, and breakfast, the second day of the conference began at the *ASCON Main Auditorium*, Badagry, Lagos.

🎙️ The first presentation titled *"Halal Business Models for School Funding: Waqf, Ventures and Strategic Partnership"* was delivered by *Prof. Majolagbe Rafiu Olayiwola* of Lagos State University.

✍️ Prof. Majolagbe opened the session by discussing national development, the evolution of manpower, leadership, and the role of policy makers. He reminded the audience of the historical struggle between Islamic identity and access to Western education, which led to the establishment of Islamic schools by organizations and later by individuals.

📌 He highlighted several *Halal, Shari'ah-compliant business models* for sustainable school funding, including:

- *Waqf (Endowment) Model*
- *Mudarabah* (Profit-sharing)
- *Musharakah* (Partnership)
- *Utilization of Zakat and Sadaqah*
- *Sales of school-related items* (books, bags, foodstuffs)
- - *Community cooperative schemes* and other income-generating ventures

✅ He emphasized key values for success:
- Discipline
- Transparency and accountability
- Fairness and justice
- Resilience in leadership

🗣️ The session concluded with an engaging *Q&A segment*.

Next on the program is a presentation by *Prof. Ismail A. Musa*, Chief Imam of UNILAG.

AL ALEEM PRESS REPORT ON THE 2025 ANNUAL AMIS (ASSOCIATION OF MODEL ISLAMIC SCHOOLS) GET-TOGETHER

The 2025 Annual AMIS (Association of Model Islamic Schools) Get-Together, tagged “Alhaji (Hon.) Adekunle Tunji Rafiu Get-Together,” was held on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan. The colorful and well-attended event brought together school proprietors, teachers, students, and dignitaries from across the South West and Kwara zones to celebrate excellence, unity, and the growth of Islamic education in Nigeria.

The atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium was filled with excitement and joy as participants engaged in various fun and educational activities. The day featured bouncing castle sessions for students, choreography displays, captivating Ewi (Oriki) presentations, and inspiring Islamic sermons delivered by students from different schools. Each activity reflected the creativity, discipline, and Islamic moral values instilled in AMIS-member schools.

As part of our media coverage, Al Aleem Press conducted interviews with some notable personalities in attendance.

During an interview with Alhaji Qozeem Muibudeen Adewale, the proprietor of Roqeeb International Group of Schools and AMIS Chairman for the South West and Kwara Zone, he expressed his appreciation and joy over the success of this year’s gathering. In his words:

“I am very impressed with the good organization of this year’s AMIS Get-Together. The coordinators did an excellent job, and I must commend the provision of a bouncing castle for the students to play on—it added a lot of fun and excitement to the day. I also appreciate our founding father, Alhaji (Hon.) Adekunle Tunji Rafiu, the celebrant, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire the growth of AMIS across the country.”

Similarly, Alhaji Abdul Semiu Sanni, the proprietor of TMM Schools, also expressed satisfaction and commended the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the event. He said:

“This year’s get-together has been wonderful. I am highly impressed with how well it was organized. Kudos to the organizers, and special thanks to Al Aleem Press and Al Aleem Group of Schools for making the program remarkable through their press coverage and interactive activities that brought the students together in fun and learning.”

The event also featured an exclusive interview session with Honourable Ademola Ige, who expressed his admiration for the initiative and applauded AMIS for promoting Islamic education and youth development. In appreciation of the excellent media coverage, he extended a token of financial support to Al Aleem Press, acknowledging their hard work and professionalism.

One of the most exciting parts of the day was the quick question-and-answer session conducted by Al Aleem Press, where students from different schools participated actively. The session tested their knowledge, built their confidence, and entertained the audience. The segment was anchored by our dedicated press members:
