ROLEX Schools/ Highstone College

ROLEX Schools/ Highstone College Rolex School is a first class Co-educational institution situated in Nigeria A BRIEF HISTORY OF ROLEX SCHOOLS
“Believing right is beginning … right”. Rosemary E.

In order to be successful in one’s task, one must first think like a successful man/woman. Moreover, in order to think like one, one must act like a man/woman who is accustomed to success. This was one of the pushing drives that made Mrs. Omaghomi (JP) to take up the responsibility of starting a school. The other pushing drive being her compassion for people in the grassroots to have sound and qua

litative education. But could she have done it alone? The answer is NO. This is because no matter what you have, you never get it right until you get to God’s sanctuary. So, she put God first to guide her and He did that because where there is a will, there’s a way. Therefore, being fortified with those two pushing drives, she set out with a strong sense of purpose to start Rolex schools. Rolex schools started as a day-care centre on October 5th 1984. The centre was started primarily to alleviate the suffering of working mothers who were faced with the problem of not finding house maids. Interestingly Rolex Day care was home away from home to the children as motherly affection; love and attention were showered on them. Ever since then, it has been progress ever, regression never. Not minding the challenges at that initial level of development, Mrs. Omaghomi never forgot the divine hand guiding the direction of the school because every cloud has a silver lining, and moreover, no pain, no gain. So, in the teething stage, she set the attention of the school to embrace clearly, definable and achievable objectives. One, the schools would etch out discipline and self-reliance on the consciousness of every child that passes through the school in keeping with the motto of the school, “Nursing tomorrow’s Leaders Today.”
Two, every child that passes through the school would be taught to pursue academic excellence by being diligent and hardworking from a tender age. This is because the devil makes work for idle hands. Three, the schools would work to shape the thoughts of the child who would respect the dignity of labour, think for himself, respect the views and feelings of others, defend the unity and uphold the honour of our great country. Four, the schools would provide a conducive environment for the students to go after continuous and purposeful self-improvement and encourage him to continue to do so later in life because the pen is mightier than the sword. In 1986 the school applied for government recognition and inspectors came from the Advisory Board on private pre-primary Education on April 15, 1988. In April 1988 both the Nursery and Primary schools were given approval by the state ministry of education. Since then the school has made giant strides. The proprietors Mr. & Mrs. A. Omaghomi by the grace and mercy of God have been translating their vision of giving qualitative education to the grassroots into a concrete reality. A lot of physical development has taken place. Due to the pressure mounted by the Rolex children school parents who liked their wards to continue their secondary level of education with Rolex schools, Rolex comprehensive college was established in iba
Empowered by God, made bold by those objectives, and the zeal to succeed because nothing succeeds like success, Mrs. Omaghomi employed the first set of loyal, efficient, self-dedicated, humble and zealous members staff. Ever pragmatic and purposeful, she held “a family” and mission-unveiling meeting with them on 22 September, 1997. There, she made it clear without mincing words, the need to carry out her mission quickly, and the sense of purpose and accomplishment that must be embedded in the consciousness of every member of staff being recruited to assist her in accomplishing the mission. Rolex Comprehensive College, Iba New Town, a private co-educational secondary school was established on 22 September, 1997. Situated within the Iba New Town axis of Ojo, it sits on an expansive ground where it offers students a lifetime opportunity of academic and extra-curricular excellence. An ICT driven school, Rolex Comprehensive College provides well-defined educational goals, spiritual and moral training that targets the discovery of each student’s unique abilities and potentials. The college’s academic and extra-curricular standards are high as yearly enrollment of the school’s graduates into foreign and local universities, is well above average. Highstone college was established due to the pressure mounted by the Rolex children school parents who liked their wards to continue their secondary level of education with Rolex school. Rolex comprehensive college is at iba and they could not afford to leave their wards to go over due the inconveniences on the road and distance. The establishment of the school was eventually realized on the 15th September, 2003
Rolex Children School was established in Iba on 25th September, 2005, primarily to bring qualitative education to people in the grassroots, to produce disciplined and respectful pupils who will be the nation’s leaders tomorrow. It was also to satisfy the yearnings of parents now in Iba, whose children had at one time or the other attended Rolex children school at Ajegunle and wanted continuity. In the year 2007, Highstone College, Ajegunle and Rolex Children School, Iba applied for recognition and inspectors came from the ministry of education for subject’s recognition. In July 2007, both schools were given an approval by the State Ministry of Education, Alausa. Highstone College, Ajegunle enrolled her first set of students for The West African Examination Council SSCE and National Examination council SSCE in 2008. Rolex Schools in January, 2011 also added another feather to her cap by establishing a world class school in Egbokodo Itsekiri, Warri, Delta state. BE MINDFUL HOW YOU REACT TO YOUR CHILDREN'S RESULTS

Look at this image carefully, you will realize that a certain child came first in his class with an average score of 52% then he is being applauded and praised by his mother.

On the other hand, another child came 10th in her class with a very impressive average score of 79% but the mother is disappointed that her daughter didn't come first and she looks sad. Not because her daughter didn't do well but just because her daughter didn't come first.

Sometimes this is just how life is, and only if we know that you don't measure your level based on another person's achievement, your envy and jealousy over another person’s success is unnecessary. The people you envy, compare yourself with and wish you were in the position they are sometimes don't even have as much as you have. Comparison is an outcome of absolute ignorance and it blinds your eyes from seeing and knowing what you ought to see and know.

Sometimes your child and you are doing better than some other people but you are not just in their position or class. Learn today that life is beyond position and we are not all in the same class. And sometimes, the only reason you think you are better than others is because of your class, not exactly the measure of your intelligence, discipline and hard work.

The message is this: don't compare yourself with others and don't think you are better than others because you have a better position than. Position sometimes is only a position, not a measure of your worth. Let your worth be more than the position you carry.

Parents? Always judge your child based on their performance, not their position.
