The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has handed more candidates over to the police for prosecution over alleged involvement in various examination malpractices. Last week, JAMB released the names of 149 candidates with Imo, Anambra and Enugu states topping the list with 26, 12 and 12 candidates respectively.
Meanwhile, the number of suspects has risen to 195 with Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Kano and Kaduna states leading with 28, 16, 15, 15 and 15 cases respectively.

A new policy has been adopted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board under which a candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination cannot get zero, even if they are absent from the examination.
JAMB added that candidates who did not attempt any question or did not get any answer correctly would be awarded the same mark with someone who is absent from the exam.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it is reviewing the Closed Circuit Television footage of its centres nationwide to discover possible cases of examination misconduct during the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination.

The board said it would not hesitate to release more names of offenders after reviewing the CCTV footage.

Update: JAMB has not canceled it scheduled 2020 UTME due to Coronavirus (Covid19), rather candidates in Bayelsa and Rivers States whose exams fall into next week are advised to reprint their slip to know their new date.

This year’s examination attracted 1.9 million applicants, the highest in JAMB’s 41-year history.Benjamin urged those who took the 17 test to check their scores by sending ‘RESULT’ to 55019 via their dedicated lines.
