The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN, hereby invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2024/2025 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for:
Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship Awards 2024/2025
Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt and Algeria.
Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania.

FIELDS OF STUDY:
Undergraduate level Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurologist and
Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields.
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: All applicants for undergraduate degree courses Must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries and for African countries the age of the certificate is one year (2023) only. The age limit is from 17 to 20 years.
POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have acquired at least two (2) years of post-qualification experience or employment practice in Nigeria.
All applicants must have completed the N.Y.S.C. Programme and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.
i) N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted; and
ii) Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer.
Please note all this:
Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction;
ii) The required certificate for candidates applying for Bachelor in Imamat, Quran Teaching Professor and Imam Preacher Training for Islamic Religious studies in Algeria is WASSCE/WAEC, and no other certificate is accepted;
All applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened Middle of November to closed on 16th January 2024. to Complete the application form online,
All applicants for Russia should visit the website https://education-in-russia.com which is open.
All applicants for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia;
All documents are to be uploaded on the Russian Application portal and must be properly scanned in PDF format.
All Applicants are to upload the following certificates online;
UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE, Birth Certificate, Indigene letter.
POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, Birth Certificate, WAEC/WASSCE Indigine letter & NYSC discharge Certificate.
NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to the Federal Scholarship Board the following:
i) Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
ii) Data page of the current International passport;
iii) Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals;
iv) National Identification Number (NIN)

JOB PURPOSE
As a field verification officer, you would be responsible for carrying out different kinds of field verifications leveraging on your experience and our standard operating procedures to help in identifying and eliminating potential default red flags prior to the disbursement of a loan facility or in verification of general KYC information of customers, employees or any other relevant parties.
You would also be responsible for making deductions from several information sources at the various verification locations in order to ensure the accuracy and legitimacy of the information being verified. You should be very creative, meticulous and observant, collecting any data outside of the standard required information that may be relevant to the verification in question.
You are expected to work with the highest integrity as any falsified information provided during verification would be considered fraud and the relevant legal processes would be initiated.

Job Responsibilities
Embark on physical visitation to potential borrowers' business places for evaluation of business books, taking inventory and turnover into consideration
Ensure that all verifications are completed thoroughly, according to the standard operating procedures and within the specified timelines
Physical visitation of locations to verify residential or business address information provided
Physical visitation of other parties such as the loan guarantors, employee references and so on to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and can easily be located if necessary
Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports on daily verification activities
Perform all other functions as may be assigned by a supervisor
Qualifications
A minimum of a B.Sc/H.ND in any business related discipline
In-depth geographical knowledge of the local environment
A minimum of 2 years experience in credit risk or field verification is an added advantage
Must be resident in Katsina
