Minister of Labor, Chris Ngige, says according to the laws of the land, anyone participating in an illegal strike is liable to a N100k fine or six months jail term. He said this while speaking with newsmen at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja yesterday May 18th. He said:


"If you embark on a strike that is illegal, if you don't give 15 days notice especially if you are a member of essential service, you will be liable to a fine of N100, 000 or six months in jail. If we invoke it now they will say this is a ruthless government but they(labor) are going outside the law.

THE Trade Union Congress (TUC) yesterday gave the Federal Government up till Wednes­day, May 18, 2016 to invite the leadership of labour for discussion aimed at determining the appropriate way forward in the on-going crisis surrounding the fuel pump price in­crease.


This is even as the labour centre insisted that the government should revert to the old price regime with immediate effect. In a com­muniqué issued at the end of an emergency meeting of the Congress highest organ, the National Executive Council (NEC) and joint­ly signed by the President, Bobboi Bala Kai­gama and Acting Secretary General, Simeso Amachree, TUC said it rejected in its entirety the astronomical increase in the price of pet­rol from N86.50 per litre to N145 per litre.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria has threatened to file a lawsuit against Tiwa Savage on behalf of her estranged husband Tunji Balogun, Teebillz.

OAP Freeze made the revelation on his Instagram page and according to him, he got a call from the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), who said Tiwa’s interview did irreparable damage on Teebillz and that he was going to demand a scary amount of money in punitive damages

The 19 northern governors came under criticism yesterday over their position that the Fulani should not be labelled as criminals. The Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, asked the governors to bury their heads in shame over their position which came in the wake of the heat generated by the attack on Ukpabi-Ninbo community in Enugu State by suspected Fulani herdsmen, last Monday. Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) also condemned the governors.

Herdsmen from different parts of Nigeria have stated that nobody can stop them from grazing their cattle in any part of the country, especially in the south. They described such restriction as unconstitutional.

The nomads, who spoke to SUNDAY PUNCH under the auspices of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, dismissed the ultimatums given by different groups for the herdsmen to vacate the southern part of the country.

THE crisis rocking the marriage of Tiwa Savage and Tunji Balogun (Tee Billz) has deepened, as the pretty hip-pop star declared that their union was over.
In an exclusive interview granted to an online television network, Pulse TV, Tiwa accused Tunji of inappropriate behaviours, throwing the bombshell that TJ was into illicit drugs.
Tee-Billz had, earlier on Instagram, accused Tiwa of infidelity and bewitchment by her mother; an outburst which necessitated the pop star to let the cat out of the bag.

As the news reported, there was an attack by the Fulani herdsmen on Uzo-Uwani community of Enugu state. Everybody is talking. Again and again, many people have started to abuse and attack our spiritual director Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. The government is not doing anything, so why is Fr. Mbaka not saying anything about it? Mbaka this….Mbaka that! Mbaka why???
