THIS MISTAKE IS COMMON

He emphasized on hard work,❌
He emphasized hard work.✅

Why?

Emphasize is a transitive verb, which means it takes a direct object. It does not need the preposition "on."

Examples:

She emphasized discipline.✅
The teacher emphasized punctuality.✅
However, the noun emphasis is different. It is commonly followed by "on"

Examples:

The emphasis was on hard work✅.
We placed emphasis on quality.✅

Remember:

Emphasize + object ✅
Emphasis + on + object ✅
