We are thrilled to announce that today, our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Imaimo officially commissioned the long anticipated Students' Union Government (SUG) 2022/2023 led by Sen. Comr. Elom Chisom Onwe Sit-out Project. This landmark event was attended by faculty, staff, and students, marking a significant enhancement of our campus facilities.

The Vice Chancellor praised the initiative and hard work of the Students' Union Government, highlighting the sit-out project as a remarkable achievement that exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and community at our university. He emphasized that this new space is more than just a place to relax; it is a hub for student interaction, fostering camaraderie and enriching the university experience.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor commended the SUG leadership and all participating students for their dedication and vision. He also acknowledged the support and guidance provided by faculty members and administrative staff, underscoring the collective effort that made this project possible.

The new sit-out area, equipped with comfortable seating and lush greenery, is designed to be a versatile space for relaxation, study, and social interaction. It represents our commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

Today, our esteemed Rector warmly welcomed the Students' Traditional Council alongside the Students' Union Government in a courtesy visit for a vital discussion on promoting Igbo culture within our institution.

The meeting was brimming with enthusiasm as the council members articulated their vision for integrating Igbo culture into various aspects of campus life. From language classes to cultural festivals, the ideas were as diverse as they were exciting.

During the engaging dialogue, both parties explored strategies to infuse traditional values into academic curricula, extracurricular activities, and campus events. Emphasis was placed on fostering inclusivity and understanding among students from different cultural backgrounds.

The Rector, in his address, lauded the initiative and pledged full support from the administration in realizing these cultural endeavors.
