‎ 🔥 Saturday Reflections: Stress, Struggle & Sweet Success

‎You know what I’ve come to realize?

‎My most stressful moments in life—those “God, abeg!” kind of seasons—are usually the same moments that birth my biggest wins.

‎It’s baffling.
‎I’ll be in the middle of chaos, deadlines flying, emotions doing press-up, and somehow… boom! A breakthrough. A win. A testimony.

‎It hasn’t happened once.
‎Not twice.
‎Not even three times.
‎It’s been a pattern.

‎And yet, I still don’t like challenges. I’m not one of those people who say, “I love pressure, it brings out the best in me.” Please, I love peace. I love a soft life. I love sleeping without alarms.

‎But life? Life will test you.
‎And somehow, in the middle of the storm, I find strength I didn’t know I had. I push. I strive. I grow. And when the dust settles, I look back and say, “So I did that?”

‎It’s that time again.
‎The pressure is back. The heat is on.
‎But I’ve seen this movie before—and I know how it ends.

‎So if you’re in your own season of stress, just know:
‎You’re not breaking down. You’re breaking through.

‎Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep showing up.
‎Because greatness doesn’t always come dressed in comfort. Sometimes, it wears overalls and smells like stress.

‎Happy Friday, fam. We move.

‎It’s your girl,
‎Neky 💫

‎🚪 Part Two: Revenge of the Dustbin
‎A few hours later, I noticed something strange. Someone had packed waste and placed it right in front of our gate. Like a smelly protest. Or a passive-aggressive gift from the neighborhood association of petty people.

‎When other tenants asked why, the man said:
‎“A lady from this compound dumped waste on that land. I called her, but she ignored me. So I brought her portion back.”

‎I heard the gist and laughed. Not out of pride, but out of surprise. I didn’t expect that level of dustbin diplomacy. I mean, who knew waste could be weaponized?

‎That night, I had a dream.

‎The same man appeared—angry, shouting, cursing. In the dream, I stood my ground like a Nollywood heroine. I defended myself. I even beat him up spiritually. I told him:
‎“You’ve got nothing on me!”

‎But when I woke up, I didn’t feel victorious. I felt reflective.

‎Because the truth is, I could’ve handled things differently.
‎I could’ve responded. Explained. Or simply respected the signboard like I knew I should.

‎This experience taught me something simple but powerful:
‎Even small actions can leave big impressions. And sometimes, silence isn’t strength—it’s a missed opportunity.

‎So today, I share this not just as a story, but as a lesson:
‎Let’s be more mindful of how we respond to others—even when we feel justified. Because peace isn’t just about avoiding conflict; it’s about choosing grace when ego wants to speak.

‎🗑️ Part One: Revenge of the Dustbin

‎In my neighborhood, there’s a piece of land that belongs to a particular group of people. It’s been sitting there for years—untouched, undeveloped, and apparently invisible to the spirit of progress.

‎Naturally, it became the unofficial dumping ground. People started parking their dustbins there, as if it were a government-approved landfill. You’d see all kinds of things: broken buckets, torn nylon bags, and one legendary dustbin that looked like it had survived three floods and one heartbreak.

‎The owners weren’t having it. They put up a signboard:
‎“DO NOT DUMP WASTE HERE.”

‎Bold letters. Capital letters. The kind of sign that says, “I’m not joking.” But Nigerians? We treat signboards like decoration. People kept dumping waste like the sign was written in invisible ink.

‎One day, I had some trash to discard. I looked around, saw that the usual suspects had already done their thing, and thought, Let me just add mine. Na small thing.

‎I dropped the waste and was heading back when I heard someone shouting:
‎“Hey! Hey! Hey!”

‎Now, let me be honest—I knew the shout was for me. But I activated my deaf auntie mode. I walked straight into our compound and closed the gate like I was escaping from Mission Impossible: Dustbin Protocol.

‎I didn’t look back. I didn’t flinch. I just entered like a responsible citizen who had done nothing wrong.

‎To be continued…

Part Two: The Loudest Shout Isn’t Always the Innocent One (Pt. 2)

So there I was, clutching my bag like it contained the Ark of the Covenant, staring at this man who had just tried to “discuss” with me.

Before I could even ask what he wanted to talk about, he switched gears like a Nollywood villain caught in the act.

He stood up and started shouting:
“Why are you not properly dressed in the house of God?!”

Wait. What?

I looked down at myself. I was modestly dressed. Nothing revealing. Just simple, clean clothes. Not even a flashy earring in sight.

I was confused. Disoriented. Embarrassed.
People started turning. Heads were moving. Eyes were scanning. And I was just there like, Is this a prank?
Then it hit me.

This man had tried to steal from my bag. He thought I was sleeping. But when I stirred, he panicked. And instead of running, he decided to change it for me. He turned the spotlight on me, trying to shame me, distract me, and escape judgment.

Classic thief tactics:
- Get caught.
- Shout louder than everyone.
- Confuse the crowd.
- Exit stage left.

I was stunned. But deep down, I knew what had just happened.

Sometimes, the guilty shout the loudest.
Sometimes, the wrongdoer points fingers to avoid being exposed.
And sometimes—even in sacred places—you have to stay alert. Not just physically, but spiritually.

I’m still processing it. Still shocked.
But one thing I know for sure: God sees everything.
Even when humans twist the truth, the truth remains.

So today, I share this not just as a story, but as a reminder:
Stay discerning. Stay grounded. And never let someone else’s noise drown out your inner knowing.

It’s your girl,
Neky 💫

Part One: A Church, A Thief, and a Twist I’ll Never Forget (Pt. 1)

‎You know how some days start off normal and then spiral into what in the world just happened? Yeah… this was one of those days.

‎So I dropped my child off at school, and they told me there’d be a PTA meeting in a few hours. I thought, Okay, let me quickly dash to the office and sort out some things before the meeting. You know that kind of “let me just touch the office small” energy.

‎I finished my tasks, looked at the time—still early. I didn’t want to go home and come back again, so I thought, Let me go to church and pray small. Just a small prayer. Nothing serious.

‎I drove to the church, parked, entered the building, and found a quiet corner. Sat down. Closed my eyes. Not sleeping o! Just meditating. But if you glanced at me, you’d think I was deep in sleep, dreaming of jollof rice and chilled malt.

‎My bag was beside me. Not zipped properly, but tucked close. I mean, it’s a church. The house of God. Who steals in church?

‎Apparently… someone does.

‎After a while, I felt a presence. No sound. Just that Holy Spirit alert kind of feeling. I opened my eyes slowly—like a Nollywood scene—and saw a man sitting very close to me. Like, “brother, are we sharing pew rent?”

‎He shifted immediately. Then smiled and said,
‎“Sister, I just want to discuss with you.”

‎Ah. Discuss ke? In this posture? With my bag mysteriously open?

‎I picked up my bag and placed it on my chest like a newborn baby. Still watching him. Confused. Suspicious. But trying to stay holy.

‎And then… the plot twist.

‎To be continued in Part Two.

Thoughtful Thursday 🌸

It’s Thursday—the quiet bridge between the rush of the week and the calm of the weekend.
A good time to pause, breathe, and ask yourself: What am I learning from this season of life?

Not every day brings answers.
Not every moment makes sense.
But every experience carries a whisper of wisdom, if we’re willing to listen.

So today, take a moment to reflect.
Celebrate your growth.
Honor your questions.
And trust that clarity will come—even if it’s not today.

It’s your girl,
Neky 💫

🌿 Soulful Sunday

Soulful Sunday is here—a quiet moment to breathe, reflect, and realign.
Life moves fast, but today, let’s slow down and listen to the whispers within.
The week ahead may be filled with unknowns, but peace begins when we stop trying to control everything and start trusting the process.

Take time to nourish your soul.
Pray. Meditate. Journal. Rest.
Whatever brings you closer to your center, do that.

It’s your girl,

It’s that moment to fold out the lessons of the past week and unfold fresh hopes for the new one.

As we round up the old week, let’s step into the next with cheerfulness, clarity, and a mindset full of possibility.
No matter what the days ahead hold, choose to walk in with grace and expectation.

Fearless Friday 💭

Life is good—but undeniably mysterious. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could peek into tomorrow, just to plan better, move smarter, and avoid the unknown. But the truth is, we don’t get to see tomorrow until it arrives. And even then, some things only make sense in hindsight… if they ever do.

We try to connect the dots, but sometimes the dots are invisible. That’s the beauty and the challenge of life. If life itself is this complex, how much more the One who created it?

So here’s your reminder on this Fearless Friday: Live boldly. Trust deeply. Walk forward—even when the path is unclear.
