YOU CAN DISAGREE WITHOUT BEING DISRESPECTFUL.
Someone can say something you don't agree with, and you don't need to raise your voice like NEPA just brought light after three days. You can simply say, "I see it differently" and the sky will not fall.
Disagreement is not a fight. It's just two people looking at the same thing from different angles, like one person seeing a glass half full and another seeing it half empty; both are still looking at the same glass.
The problem is not that we disagree, the problem is how we disagree. Some people cannot make a point without attacking the person making the other point. You wanted to talk about the topic, but somehow it turned into "and that's why your generation will never understand anything."
Next time you want to disagree with someone, try this: attack the argument, not the person. Speak with respect, even when you feel strongly. Listen to understand, not just to wait for your turn to talk. And remember, winning an argument and losing a friend is not really winning anything.
Being right does not give you the right to be rude.
