Most people feed only one and wonder why they are still empty.
In Kabbalah, we are taught we have 3 levels of hunger:
1. Body wants enjoyment.
This is Nefesh. It seeks pleasure, food, money, comfort. If you only feed this, you become tired.
2. Heart wants love.
This is Ruach. It seeks connection, validation, belonging. If you only feed this, you become dependent.
3. Soul wants peace.
This is Neshamah. It seeks purpose, light, and return to the Source. If you feed this, the other two finally become calm.
Stop trying to give the soul what only the body wants.

You won the argument.
But you lost the moment. You lost the warmth. You lost each other a little bit more.

Shalom bayit begins when winning the argument becomes less important than protecting the relationship.

It's not about who is right.
It's about what is right for the bayit.

The Sages teach: Sometimes you have to give up peace to get truth, but in a marriage, peace IS truth.

Next time you feel that urge to fire back, to prove your point, to get the last word ā€” pause and ask:
