Yesterday evening, I was going through a report released on premium times on May 2019 by the former minister of Labour and Employment, Sen Chris Ngige. And the title of the report reads..."Nigeria's Unemployment rate hits 33.3% by 2020".

That's a few months away from now, and that got me thinking. The truth is that most of us might not understand what that statistical calculations means but I believe that what most of us understand is that millions of graduates are still looking for jobs.

Probably you that is reading this very post right now, still looks around and submits applications for a job offer.

Your case is not different from the rest of us that are still looking for our dream job.

"I'd rather die than give a Speech"

In the year 2010, when I was made the cordinator of NFCS Onyishi hall in IMT Enugu, this position entails that I have to cordnate morning Rosary, take the morning readings most times and share the WORD.

I have to stand before a good of students from different departments and break words with them.

When I was appointed, I accepted that with mixed feelings because I knew that when it comes to Public Speaking, I was a novice.

I remembered waking up by 4:00am in the morning of my first day, I wrote down every single words I intend to share...I recited it over and over again.

But at the point of sharing these words... I was engulfed in a great fear, my body was shaking...I was just jumping up and down on words that could come to my rescue that very moment. Yes I delivered but that was with great tribulation if I should use that express how I felt.

I always thank God for a capable assistant I had then, (Onele Cardinal). He did the job most of the time...In those days, it was more like Buhari and Osibanjo if you understand what I mean( I am in my house...they should come and beat me...afterall I did not say anything)

It has been recorded that Public Speaking as the greatest fear of man. The Book of Lists identifies speaking before a group as the greatest human fear. The list includes - heights, insects, snakes, sickness and even death. Death as a matter of fact comes under public speaking.

For every great speaker you see today, there was in existence, the days of this great fear, imperfection and lost confidence to speak out before a group.

I have worked over the years not just to develop my public speaking skill, but equally created platform to help many who still struggle with this.
