Our attention has recently been drawn to a publication made by Newspapers capturing our advocacy for from Ambrose Alli University and within Edo State for Expedite Treatment in any hospital within the state whenever they call ill.
A second phase of the investigation was adequately captured for the alarming “Hospital Negligence” that led to the Death Of Emmanuel Nyong. Read previous post for the full details, or follow handles for the full update and story.

Happy Birthday our SUG 01, Comr. Osamagbe Eghobamien!!! Wishing you many happy returns Great Man!🥳🥳✅✅
NAESS AAU wholeheartedly celebrates you on your auspicious day. Do have a blast.🥳🥳🎺🎺❤️❤️
Cheers!!!🤝🤝🤝
The National Association of Edo state students, (NAESS) Ambrose Alli University, finds the death of 19yrs old , “Emmanuel Nyong” a 200L student from the department of banking and finance, management sciences, Ambrose Alli University as a total waste and ignorance to the value of human life by lapses in hospitals. This was a very avoidable Death!!!
“When Accountability, in Clearly spelt out consequences is aggressively demanded for a single loss of human life at any medical institution whatsoever, a significant turn around will be the order of the day” in the mortality rate at our hospitals, Clinics and what have you, so others don’t suffer the same fate!!!”
NAESS AAU, appeals to Her Students “Do your due diligence before entrusting your life to any form of medical care!!! Seek several options and opinions in an attempt to ascertain the degree of expertise and professionalism in any kind of medical facility before ultimately giving yourself up for treatment.
“A new study shows that the number of previously healthy people who die every year from hospital error is about 7,150.”
“According to Late Emma’s friend and sister present at the hospital that day, “they were now pressing his chest for him to breath well”.
It was confirmed to us by a senior administrator at Eseohe hospital when the President of NAESS AAU- Comr. Lordnis Akhabue, Alongside NAESS Public Relations Officer- Comr. Iguodala Albert as well as a senator in the SRC/ Legislative arm of the SUG Comr. Dennis Oyomare, who were at the hospital to obtain a detailed account of the eventuality, that a few hours before Emma‘s referral was finalised, another student had died in the same ward to sickle-cell crisis while still receiving treatment that very day, so they didn’t want to risk loosing another patient and immediately made referral arrangements.” to ISTH, where Emma in a critical state was rejected.
This thought provoking scenario explores how a seemingly insignificant and lackadaisical attitude to work can have life threatening consequences. This is a young student, having a whole life ahead of him, who we lost to the cold hands of death with the strike action as a major factor.
NAESS is appealing to the governor of the state through the Legislate arm to Enact, implement or amend as a matter of urgency a medical malpractice law for Hospitals within Edo State which ultimately will be binding strictly on medical institutions and professionals within the state. “Edo state students are important to the state and we are advocating for Expedition of Treatment and Attention of Edo state students in Ambrose Alli university whenever they call ill...”
NAESS calls on the management of Ambrose Alli University under the leadership of the new AG Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benson Osarhieme Osadolor to intensity upon shared rules of engagement and memorandum of understanding in reference to the Administrative Policy shared between the University and ISTH- Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital and other hospitals for the generality of Her student community.
All aggrieved students and well wishers known to Emma, especially his dance crew members who consisted of all proud students from the institution, went into mourning after Emma’s death. The 6th of April, next day following Emma’s Demise, a candle night was done at the University Sports Complex of which a massive crowd was present and the President of the National Association of Edo State Students-(NAESS) Comr. Lordnis Akhabue, The Public Relations Officer- Comr. Iguodala Albert and the Treasurer- Comr. Michael Omorodion were in attendance.
The National Association of Edo State Students- (NAESS) Ambrose Alli University Chapter, further appeals to the Executive governor of the state, the visitor of our great institution- Governor Godwin Obaseki, to restore complete normalcy to the University environment as a matter of urgency by meeting the overdue demands of the aggrieved workers (Academic and non-academic staff). The reform/Clean up said to be undergone by the University shouldn’t in anyway hinder the smooth sailing of Academic activities within the University.
