*Fiqh of Wiping over Khuff, Socks, Shoes, Turban…(2 of 2)*
*Validity of Ablution after Taking off the Wiped Socks*
The scholars differed concerning the ruling on one who does ablution and wipes over his socks, then takes them off. Some scholars say that it is sufficient for him to wash his feet, and his ablution is completed thereby. Others concluded that the ablution is not invalidated thereby unless he breaks his ablution in some other way (by breaking wind etc) and this is the strongest view. This was the view of a number of the salaf, including Qataadah, al-Hasan al-Basri and Ibn Abi Layla. It was supported by Ibn Hazm in al-Muhalla (1/105), and was the view favoured by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah and Ibn al-Mundhir. Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmu’ (1/557), Majmu’ Fataawa Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 11/193. al-Mughni, 1/366-386; al-Muhalla, 1/105; al-Ikhtiyaaraat, p. 15; al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 1/180.
*Purity Last after the Period for Wiping Over the Socks Ends*
The correct view is that his ablution is not invalidated when the period for wiping over the socks comes to an end. There is a principle that the seeker of knowledge should pay attention to, which is that what is proven by the shar’i evidence cannot be invalidated without further shar’i evidence, because what is proven remains as it is. Liqa’ al-Baab al-Maftuh, 44.
*Wiping Over the Shoes*
It is also established that Muslim can wipe over shoe, especially boot (like army boot). Al-Mugheerah ibn Shu’bah said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did wudoo’ and wiped over his socks and shoes.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 92; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 86
*How to Wipe Over the Socks or Shoes*
The way in which one wipes over them is to put one’s wet fingers on the toes then pass them over the feet to the shin; the right foot should be wiped with the right hand and the left foot with the left hand. The fingers should be spread when wiping and it should not be repeated. al-Mulakhkhas al-Fiqhi by al-Fawzaan, 1/43, Fataawa al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, vol. 1, p. 250, al-Sharh al-Mumti’ by Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, vol. 1, p. 213.
*Wiping Over Socks that Have Holes in Them*
Imaam Sufyaan al-Thawri (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “One may wipe over the khuff so long as it is still clinging to the feet. Were the khuff of the Muhaajireen and Ansaar anything but full of holes and tears?” (Narrated by ‘Abd al-Razzaaq in al-Musanaaf, 1/194) al-Fataawa (21/174) al-Majmoo’ (1/502). It is permissible to wipe over them instead of washing one’s feet when doing wudoo’, if they were put on when one was in a state of tahaarah (purity), unless the holes are bigger than is ordinarily acceptable, or the socks are so thin that the feet would be judged to be naked. Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 5/246.
*Wiping Over the Head Cover for Men and Women*
It is permissible for men to wipe over the head cover, and this is the apparent meaning of the general words that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) “wipe over the khuffayn and the head cover.” Saheeh Muslim (275), Ahmad (39/325).
The scholars differed concerning the ruling on a woman wiping over her head cover. And the most correct is that it is permissible for a woman to wipe over her khimar (head cover) in the case of necessity, such as when it is very cold, or it is difficult to take off her hijab and put it back on. Fataawa al-Tahaarah, p. 171, Ash-Sharh al-Mumti‘ ‘ala Zaad al-Mustaqni‘, 1/239. Sharh al-‘Umdah, 1/265, 266 Sharh Muntaha al-Iraadaat (1/60).

•Is it true that Imaamush-Shaafi'ee celebrated Maulid?
Question: I know verily what affirm the negation of the celebration of the prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم birthday, but I was surprised when I read a book with the title "Al-Islaam wash-Sha'aairud-deeniyyah" (written) by Mukhtar Tiyaam specifically in the page 45 of the book chapter 4, that Imaamush-Shaafi'ee do celebrate the prophet's birthday.
Answer: As you've known - may ALLAAH grant you success - that celebrating what is called the prophet's birthday is a forbidden innovation and none of the pious predecessors did it, and none of the four great Imaams and whosoever attribute such to Imaamush-Shaafi'ee has lied because, this bid'ah was not in existence until the fourth century after Hijrah in the period of the Faatimiyyah Empire, and Imaamush-Shaafi'ee - may ALLAAH have mercy on him - died in the year 204 AH.
Source: Al-Lajnatud-Daaimah [2/243].
Abu Dajanah always used to pray behind the Prophet, sallalau allayhi wasallam.
But as soon as he finishes his prayer, he comes out of the Masjid quickly.
This caught the eyes of the Prophet, salla llau Allayhi wasallam, and one day he stopped him and asked him:
"O Abu Dajana, don't you need anything from Allah?"
Abu Dajana said:
"O Messenger of Allaah, Yes I do. I can't live without Allah even with a blink of an eye."
The Prophet salla llahu allayhi wasallam said:
"So why don't you stay with us after prayers and ask Allah what you need?"
Abu Dajana said:
"The reason is that I have a Jewish neighbor who has a date palm tree, and its branches are in the courtyard of my house.
So when the wind blows at night, the dates fall into my courtyard.
That is why you see me coming out of the Masjid quickly, so as I can go and collect the dates and return them to the owner, before my kids wake up.
Because once they wake up, they will eat them as they are hungry.
I swear to you, O Messenger of Allah, that one day I saw one of my children chewing the date, and I put my finger in his throat and took it out before he could swallow it.
When my son cried, I said to him:
'Aren't you ashamed of standing in front of Allah as a thief?"
When Abubakar heard what Abu Dajana said, he went to the Jewish and bought the date palm tree, and gave it to Abu Dajana and his children.
When the Jewish learned the truth of the matter, he quickly collected his children and his family and went to the Prophet salla llahu allayhi wasallam, and announcing their entry into Islam.
This is how they made people enter Islam because of their stand and their actions.
They were advocates of their deep-rooted faith, and their actions is a reflection of their faith.
