WHAT MAKES A SCHOOL TRULY ?

In my years as an educator, leader, and consultant, I’ve seen that the best schools do three things exceptionally well:

1. They explicitly identify, communicate, and focus on skills—those timeless abilities that transcend subject boundaries and prepare students for life.

2. They engage learners in , interest-driven experiences, where skills are applied, refined, and strengthened through real-world projects, deliberate guidance, and meaningful collaboration.

3. They embed development intentionally—through curriculum, instruction, and assessment—making growth a community-wide priority, not an afterthought.

When schools embrace these practices, they move beyond teaching content to cultivating capable, confident, future-ready learners.

That’s where I come in. As a professional educator and seasoned consultant, I work with both public and private schools to design strategies, structures, and systems that drive student achievement and whole-school improvement.

If you’re a school leader, policymaker, or educator looking to:

A) Build stronger teaching practices,

B) Improve student engagement and outcomes, and

C) Create a culture of authentic, skills-driven learning,

Let’s . Together, we can schools that don’t just teach, but truly lives.

EXPANDING ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

Every year, thousands of brilliant young Nigerians are denied university admission — not because of failure, but due to limited spaces.

It’s time we rethink higher education. Community Colleges can provide affordable, skill-driven, and accessible education for millions.

They are not a second option — they are a pathway of purpose. Let’s build a system that values every dream.

Contentment will always be ahead of wealth. A life wonderfully lived with great contentment is what having wealth and being rich is all about. It's ironical to know that being wealthy doesn't make one contented. God bless you.

15 CHARACTERISTICS OF THE "SLAVES OF SALOONS AND PUPPETS OF THE WEST."

IF LEADERS IN YOUR COUNTRY POSSESS ANY OF THESE CHARACTERISTICS, KNOW THAT YOU ARE BEING RULED BY PUPPETS AND FOREIGN PROXIES.

1. Subservience to Foreign Powers: They prioritize the interests of foreign governments or corporations over their nation’s sovereignty and development.

2. Corruption: They are deeply corrupt, enriching themselves and their allies at the expense of their country's resources and people.

3. Lack of Vision: They lack a clear and independent vision for their nation's progress, relying instead on directives from external forces.

4. Dependency on Foreign Aid: They perpetuate reliance on foreign aid rather than fostering self-reliance and sustainable development.

5. Suppression of Opposition: They silence dissenting voices through censorship, intimidation, or outright violence to maintain control.

6. Neglect of National Development: Infrastructure, education, and healthcare suffer under their leadership as they divert resources for personal gain.

7. Cronyism and Nepotism: They appoint unqualified allies and family members to key positions, weakening governance and institutions.

8. Luxury at the Expense of the Masses: They live extravagant lifestyles, often funded by state resources, while their citizens endure poverty.

9. Weakening of Local Institutions: They intentionally undermine or co-opt institutions like the judiciary and media to ensure foreign-backed dominance.

10. Promotion of Neo-Colonial Policies: They implement policies that perpetuate economic dependency and exploitation by external powers.

11. Resistance to Progressive Change: They resist reforms or movements that threaten their power or the interests of their foreign sponsors.

12. Exploitation of Ethnic and Religious Divides: They manipulate societal divisions to maintain control and distract from their failures.

13. Unpatriotic Decision-Making: Decisions on trade, security, and natural resources favor foreign entities at the expense of national interests.

14. Avoidance of Accountability: They use immunity, legal loopholes, or foreign backing to evade justice for their misdeeds.

15. Oppression of Grassroots Movements: They suppress grassroots initiatives and youth-led efforts that challenge their hold on power or advocate for national sovereignty.

These traits collectively highlight the betrayal of trust and lack of commitment to national progress by most leaders in Africa.

COVENANT UNIVERSITY EMPLOYABILITY CLAIM: A CLOSER LOOK AT AT THE CONTROVERSY

Bishop David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Covenant University, recently made headlines with a bold claim that over 90% of the university's graduates are employable. While this statement underscores the institution's commitment to producing industry-ready graduates, it has sparked discussions about its validity and the metrics behind the claim.

Critics argue that the claim may be controvertible for several reasons:

1. Lack of Independent Verification: The employability rate of over 90% is impressive but raises questions about the data source. No third-party validation or detailed methodology was provided to substantiate this figure. Without such transparency, the claim remains open to scrutiny.

2. Ambiguity of "Employability": The term "employable" can have varying interpretations. Does it mean graduates are employed within a specific period after graduation, or does it refer to their preparedness for the job market? A lack of clear definition leaves room for doubt.

3. Absence of Comparative Data: Bishop Oyedepo stated that Covenant University tops the list of Nigerian universities with employable graduates, but no supporting rankings or reports from recognized bodies were cited. This omission raises questions about how the institution compares with its peers.

4. Economic Context: Nigeria's high unemployment rate, particularly among graduates, adds a layer of complexity. For Covenant University to maintain such a high employability rate, it would need to demonstrate how it addresses systemic challenges in the labor market.

While Covenant University’s focus on leadership development and problem-solving skills is laudable, experts emphasize the need for detailed and independently verified data to reinforce such claims. Transparent reporting, including graduate tracking and employer feedback, could strengthen the credibility of the university's achievement.

As debates continue, the spotlight remains on Covenant University to provide further evidence that its graduates are not only employable but are consistently excelling in the competitive job market.
