Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety disorder is a mental health disorder characterised by feelings or worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with ones daily activities.

If you have an anxiety disorder, you may respond to certain things and situations with fear and dread. You may also experience physical signs of anxiety, such as a pounding heart and sweating.

Things that can commonly birth anxiety in Africa (especially in Nigeria);

_Stressful life situations, that is, a death in the family
_Work stress or Financial constraints,
_Your environment (societal factor)
_Genetics, brain biology and chemistry
_Childhood trauma
_Social isolation etc

A person is prone to anxiety is mostly one whose temperament is timid or negative or who avoids anything dangerous, high emotional reactivity (high neuroticism) and introverted tendencies (low extroversion)

Self-help to curbing anxiety disorder is adequate breathing exercises, open discussion (talk to trusted friend, partner- you need it most), psychotherapy, think more of beautiful memories (happy moments), listen to good rhythm(music is an essential source of vitamin to the soul😊), eat food, fruits and veggies rich in vitamins A, D(D3), E, K and dietary supplements.
