STAY STRONG AND KEEP BELIEVING

As we go through our daily lives, each one of us experiences difficult situations. A lot of the times when we go through pain or suffering, we are surprised that these situations find a way into our lives and forget that God has told us that we will experience hardships. We are given the gift of faith from Him and are taught to use this valuable fruit of the Spirit, but a lot of the times we do not. In difficult or confusing times, we are quick to worry about them instead of having faith.

The grace of God has given us the gift of faith, not because we deserve it, but as a result of the everlasting goodness of His works. It is important to also know that this gift we have been given is not in exchange for us accomplishing good works. Appreciation for this gift should fill our hearts with humility knowing we've been given something we could never achieve on our own.

I believe that nothing is more foundational to the Christian life than for the believer to understand his or her position in Christ Jesus.

Our position in Christ is our legal standing with God: Are we guilty or not guilty? Debtors or free? His enemies or His friends? Understanding these things makes a difference in how we live day in and day out.

In His goodness and by His grace, God changes our standing — our position — before Him when we place our trust in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. Ephesians 2:7 affirms that our new status flows out of that wonderful phrase “the riches of God’s grace.”

OCTOBER TOUCH (Part 4)
Title : Prepare Against the Evil Day!
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13"
Devotion : Jesus Christ has cautioned His children to be as wise as the serpent and as harmless as the dove. You need the wisdom of God to live and run the Christian race. There are many days in a Christian's life: the days of peace, joy, prosperity, and healing as well as an evil day. This evil day is the day that the devil and his cohorts of darkness have been planning all this while to get you. They are looking for the slightest opportunity to unleash their venom on you. This is why you need to prepare against this day with the whole armor of God. This includes the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, boot of the preparation of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:14-17). Any of the armor that is lacking is a door the enemy can use to get you, so don't compromise on any of them since these will enable you to overcome your evil day. Praise the Lord! OCTOBER TOUCH (Part 3)
Title : A Different Spirit
"Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Romans 12:14"

Devotion : The world believes in a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye; this means that the world believes in vengeance. However, the Christian is of a different Spirit; he is born into the light of God, which believes in forgiveness. The Christian is blessed and has been made to be a blessing (Ephesians 1:3). Therefore, cursing or uttering curses is not the nature of Christ and hence not the nature of the Christian. The Christian must live according to his or her nature. Jesus Christ acknowledged that we will be persecuted just as He was persecuted. All the persecutions are training tools to build our faith; therefore, instead of cursing our persecutors, we must bless them and rejoice to share in the sufferings of Christ. Dear beloved, are you being persecuted in any way? What are you doing to overcome it? Share your thoughts here!

OCTOBER TOUCH (PART 2)
Title : God Is Nigh
"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18"
Devotion : God has laid down a principle for Himself regarding whom to walk with and be close to. He said He will be close to a person who is of a broken heart and a contrite spirit. A broken heart is a heart of meekness, a life of continual humility. A contrite spirit is a heart that shows remorse for sins. These two qualities are very essential to God; therefore, a Christian who seeks to hear the voice of God or to be close to God must yearn to develop a meek heart and contrite spirit. Dear beloved, do you have these two qualities God desires from you? Share your comments here! Lrts help one another to grow.

....August Special... (part3)
Title : Conscious of His Presence
"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2"
Talk : It is very heartwarming and comforting to read a scripture like this, where God has given His pledge to His children to be with them in all circumstances. Water and fire are good servants but bad masters. In the scripture above they symbolize bad masters. God is making it clear to His children that life may not be rosy after all; His children will go through trying times which may look like water and fire. However, He has given us His Word that He will be with us and control the situation: if the trial is like rivers they will not overcome us and if it is like fire it will not burn us. This should give us confidence that whatever difficult times we may be going through, the presence of God is available to deliver us. Let us keep trusting Him for He knows what is best for us. Dear beloved, have you ever gone through any trying times? Share your stories and testimonies here!

Title : EASY BATTLE
"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17"
Talk : There are different battles to fight as a child of God, but the good news is that it is not all these battles we should spend our time fighting. The opening scripture throws light on it; King Jehoshaphat was threatened by Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir. The LORD gave the king a strategy to raise singers to lead the king and his army to battle. When the singers began to worship God, God confounded the enemies to fight against themselves until they had destroyed themselves. The Christian is encouraged to develop a lifestyle of praise and worship so the Lord can fight for you. Our battles are easy because the battles are the LORD's and not ours. Dear reader, how do you find your battles? Share your thoughts here!

August Special (part 1)
Topic: HE HELPER OF MEN
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)"
TALK: There is no need to carry our burden anymore; it is made evident here that the righteous have been cushioned against stress and anxiety. If you are reading this message and you are not born again, it is time to receive Jesus now. He is ever ready to carry your burden and sustain you, and He will establish you forever. Kindly share your thoughts here!

........ July Special........
TITLE : CONSIDERING ONE ANOTHER.
Text:"Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:21"
TALK : The only condition given to submission is that it should be done showing reverence to God. Some people submit to status or personality while others do so out of fear of personality. These do not satisfy God's requirements. Submitting to one another in the fear of God promotes respect, peace, joy, love, and unity. Do you have difficulty submitting to someone? Or any contribution regarding our topic for the week? Please Share your reasons with us!
