OUR HEROES - OUR SUPER HEROES
As we celebrate this yearâs Childrenâs Day, we give thanks to God for the gift of our brilliant, resilient, creative, and ever-smart children whose dreams continue to inspire hope for a better Nigeria. Today is a day set aside to celebrate the innocence, potential, and future of every child, and to reaffirm our collective responsibility to protect and nurture them.
However, even in celebration, our hearts are deeply burdened by the increasing insecurity confronting schools, teachers, and pupils across the nation. We strongly condemn every act of banditry, kidnapping, violence, and senseless killings targeted at innocent teachers and school children in Nigeria.
We are particularly saddened by the recent attack in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where armed bandits reportedly stormed three schools within the Ahoro-Esiele/Yawota axis of Ogbomoso on May 16, abducting over 30 pupils, students, and teachers. The affected schools include Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School. This disturbing incident is not only an attack on education, but also an attack on humanity, peace, and the future of our nation.
As an educational institution made up of dedicated teachers and promising pupils, we stand in solidarity with the government and people of Oyo State, especially the families directly affected by this painful tragedy. We share in your grief, fears, and concerns, and we pray earnestly for the safe return of every abducted child and teacher.
Teachers and pupils remain the heartbeat of every progressive society. They are builders of knowledge, carriers of dreams, and true SUPER HEROES of our time and beyond, whose courage and dedication deserve protection, honour, support and not fear and violence.
We therefore call on all relevant authorities, security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders in the education sector to intensify efforts toward safeguarding schools across Nigeria. Every child deserves the right to learn in a safe and peaceful environment, and every teacher deserves the freedom to teach without intimidation or danger.
On this Childrenâs Day, may we not only celebrate our children with words, gifts, and ceremonies, but also commit ourselves to creating a nation where every child can learn, grow, and dream without fear.
Happy Childrenâs Day to all our amazing children. Your future matters, your voices matter, and your safety matters.

Our Year 6 pupils began photography classes this term, and the excitement has been amazing to see. They have developed a strong interest in taking creative photographs, especially using the bokeh effect to produce beautiful blurred backgrounds while keeping their subjects sharp and focused.
Through these lessons, they are learning not only how to use a camera, but also important skills such as creativity, observation, patience, composition, assembling and proper camera handling. Their enthusiasm and willingness to explore new ideas have made the classes engaging and enjoyable.
