Distinguished Senator Shehu Buba Umar yesterday, Saturday, 7th March 2026, joined members of his entourage and the Proprietor of College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar, during the foundation-laying ceremony of the College’s permanent site building.

The event was graced by members of his entourage, the Proprietor of the College, community leaders, and other dignitaries who gathered to witness the historic step toward expanding health science education in the area.

The event marked a significant milestone for health education and development in the community.

APPRECIATION MESSAGE!

On behalf of the management, staff, and students of the College of Health Science and Technology Bununu, the Proprietor, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar, expresses profound appreciation and gratitude to Distinguished Senator Shehu Buba Umar, the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, for his generous donation of twenty million naira (₦20,000,000) for the building of the College Permanent Site.

The proprietor of the College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar, expressed appreciation for the gesture and said this remarkable support demonstrates the Senator’s strong commitment to the advancement of education, healthcare training, and community development in Bauchi State. He noted that the contribution would go a long way in accelerating the construction of the permanent site, thereby creating a better learning environment for students and enhancing the institution’s capacity to train competent health professionals.

Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar, commended Senator Shehu Buba Umar for his visionary leadership, generosity, and dedication to the growth of educational institutions within the senatorial district. He reaffirmed that his support would leave a lasting impact on the college and the future of healthcare services in our communities.

He therefore promised to utilise the money judiciously for the purpose it was meant for in order to achieve the desired objectives.

Matriculation/convocation ceremony of College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu is currently ongoing at the college premises.

In attendance are Dr Iliyasu Aliyu Gital Mazawajen Dass Sarkin Gital and the Honourable commissioner of Agriculture and also Chairman of the Governing Board, Emir of Bununu, Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan, represented by Yusuf Umar Sarkin Bashalang, District Head of Bununu, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Bununu, the College Legal Adviser and other dignitaries.

POSTPONEMENT OF SCHEDULED MATRICULATION/CONVOCATION CEREMONY!

On behalf of the Management, Staff, and Students of the College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu , I sincerely apologize for the postponement of our scheduled Matriculation/Convocation Ceremony that was owing to the stakeholders' engagement convened by his Royal Highness, the Emir of Bununu, Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan, which coincided with our event; the postponement is to allow our invited guests to attend that momentous gathering.

We understand that many of you had made significant arrangements to honor us with your presence, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this unexpected change may have caused. The decision to postpone the ceremony was made after careful consideration and in the best interest of our students, invited guests, and the institution as a whole.
Your unwavering support, encouragement, and partnership mean a great deal to our college community. We truly value the time and effort you dedicate to celebrating our students’ academic milestones, and we do not take your commitment for granted.

The Management and entire staff members and students of the College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu equally paid a familiarisation visit to the Emir of Bununu, Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan at his palace.

The delegation was led by the amiable Proprietor, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar and the indefatigable provost of the College, Mr Mamaki Ishaya Maigida along with other principal officers, members of staff and students and were warmly received at the palace.

The Proprietor said the aim of the visit to the Emir's palace is to familiarise themselves with the Emir and equally congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment as the First Emir Of Bununu. During the visit the Proprietor had presented a letter of appointment to the Emir as life patron of the College, noting that the appointment was in recognition of his tremendous contributions to educational upliftment in Bauchi state.

Responding the Emir of Bununu, Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan expressed appreciation for the visit and described it as timely. He therefore instantly accepted the letter of appointment as life patron of the College and said he would do everything possible to bring positive developments to the college as a father.

Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan commended the foresight of the Proprietor for establishing the institution in his domain and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to assist the college whenever it needs his assistance.

During the visit a banner containing the portrait of the Emir was presented to the palace as part of the College gift to the Emir.

Today Friday, 23rd January, 2026, the Management and entire staff and students of the College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu paid a courtesy visit to the District Head of Bununu, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad to felicitate with him on his well-deserved appointment as the first District Head of Bununu.

The visit to the District Head's palace was spearheaded by the Proprietor of the College, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar alongside the provost, Mr Mamaki Ishaya Maigida. During the visit the Proprietor was palpably euphoric over the warm reception accorded to the college at the palace.

He noted that the aim of the visit is to congratulate the newly appointed District Head on his appointment to the throne being one of the members of the Governing Council of the College who contributed enormously to the growth of the College in all ramifications.

The Proprietor, Comrade Ahmad Adamu, had reaffirmed the unwavering commitment and unflagging support to the District Head, stressing that the college is always proud of him at all times being its father, and finally wished him long life and prosperity.

In his remarks, the new District Head, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Bununu expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that he is always proud of the College being the only tertiary institution in Bununu and would do everything within his powers to ensure that the college stands on its feet.

Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Bununu said his door would forever remain open to offer any assistance the College may need from him at all times and called on the students to take their studies with all the seriousness it deserved in order to succeed, reiterating that, Tafawa Balewa Local Government and Bauchi state as a whole still in dire need of health personnel in our respective health facilities.

During the visit a banner containing the portrait of the District Head was presented to the palace as part of the congratulatory gift from the college.

Of the college received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of the beloved wife of the Honourable Commissioner of Agriculture, Bauchi state, Hajiya Fatima Iliyasu Aliyu Gital and Chairman Governing Council of the College three days ago.

This is indeed a great loss, not only to you and your immediate family, but to all who knew her as a woman of virtue, compassion, and grace.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. May the Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and give you, your family, and loved ones the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May Allah comfort you and grant you peace.

Today Wednesday, 7th January, 2026, the College held its first Management meeting to usher in the year 2026.
The meeting was presided over by the Proprietor of the College of Health Science and Technology, Bununu, Comrade Ahmad Adamu Umar along side the provost, Mr Mamaki Ishaya Maigida and virtually all the principal officers were in attendance.

Addressing the Management staff, the Proprietor thanked Almighty God for sparing our lives to witness another year and for the tremendous successes recorded in the outgoing year, 2025. Noting that the aim of today's meeting is to review the progress made in 2025 and the challenges faced with a view to nipping in the bud those identified challenges once and for all for the accelerated progress of the College.

The meeting also exhaustively deliberated on strategies to be adopted in 2026, especially now that the new academic session has just begun.

Several resolutions were made during the meeting, and, it was rounded off in a happy mood where the Proprietor doled out some cash gifts to all the principal officers in attendance as a mark of appreciation for their patience, sacrifice, continued loyalty and gigantic contributions rendered towards making the College what it is today.
