Introducing them to the importance of technology, explored the impact of STEM and guided them through the latest tools like AI, showing them that tech isn’t just something to use, it’s something they can build, shape, and leverage for their future.
What stood out? The enthusiasm! The eagerness to learn, the curiosity to explore, and the drive to create; it’s always inspiring to see young minds so engaged during our outreaches.

On Thursday the 28th of November, 2024 the Bonny Kingdom Choral played host to the highly anticipated Secondary School choral Competition Catching them young. The event, which brought together talented choristers from various secondary schools (Senior) in the kingdom, was a testament to the rich musical heritage of the Kingdom.
The Competition
The competition, held at the Ibanise Hall at Akiama Oguede, saw fourteen (14) participating schools showcase their vocal prowess in a bid to claim the top prize. Each school presented a Solo, set piece and traditional songs (folklore in efik), featuring a diverse range of choral pieces that highlighted their unique styles and strengths.
The Adjudicators
A panel of three renowned music adjudicators, comprising Engr. Julian Wilcox, Chief. Tonma Wilton Harry Ph.D, and Mr. Victor Solomon Ph.D, was tasked with evaluating the performances based on criteria such as pitch, tone, rhythm, and overall musicality.
The Results
After a thorough deliberation, the adjudicators announced the winners as follows:
Senior Secondary Category
1. First Prize: Bonny National Grammar School
2. Second Prize: Government Girls Secondary School Finima, Bonny
3. Third Prize: Lucille International School, Bonny
The Secondary School Choral Competition in Bonny Kingdom was a resounding success, showcasing the exceptional musical talents of the participating schools. The event not only promoted healthy competition but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the participants.

SAIPEM Daewoo Unincorporated Joint Venture (SCUJV), in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), donated an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to Bonny National Grammar School in Bonny, Rivers State.
The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, represented by the Manager, Midstream Operations, Mr. Patrick June, said the event marked a significant milestone in the efforts of the Board and SCUJV to aid digital education in the area.
According to him, “This state-of-the-art facility stands as a testament to our commitment to ensuring tangible benefits for Nigerians, especially our youths and able-bodied men and women from the oil- and gas-producing communities and environs.
The new ICT Centre includes 31 personal computers, high-performance servers, security systems, video conferencing equipment, and other advanced technology, all housed in secure facilities.
The Principal of the school, Mr. Gift Nweke, expressed gratitude for the donation, while NCDMB and SCUJV emphasized their commitment to benefiting local youth and the community. The NCDMB team encouraged the community to utilize the center to its fullest potential.
Mr. Taridouye Gagariga, Manager, NCDMB Properties, who also spoke at the event urged the school to encourage members of the community to come in and use the facilities.
On the NCDMB team also were Mr Pius Waritimi, Supervisor, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Mr Erefegha Kieriseiye, Officer, ICT Enterprise Systems and Hardware Consumables.

UNITED DESTINY FORUM (Class of 2005/06) comprising of Old students from BONNY NATIONAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL,started her "UDF WEEK" with visitation to some of her Alma Mattas, urging the students to shun drug abuse,cultism,and other social vices.Gift items was also distributed to the students.
It was a joyous event as we are resilient in giving back to the society that made us.

RSG HOLDS PRE- RESUMPTUON TRAINING FOR TEACHERS ON CAPACITY BUILDING

The Rivers State Commissioner for Education Prof Prince Chinedu Mmom JP, DSSRS, says the Government of Rivers State led by His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, has the welfare of teachers at heart and will do everything possible to put smiles on their faces.
Prof Mmom said His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS graciously approved the training to further prepare teachers for the task ahead and urged them to use the knowledge gained through the training to impact the students positively.
In his goodwill message, the acting president of All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Public Schools (ANCOPPS), Rivers State Chapter, Mr. Okachi Chima commended the state government for the re-enforcement of their knowledge through the pre-resumption training to help them carry out their duties more professionally in the new academic session adding that teachers are very happy with the government.
The training took place simultaneously in the following centres, Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta ( OBio/Akpor zone), Government Girls Secondary School Orominieke(Port Harcourt Zone), State Primary School 1 Ogali(Eleme Zone), Birabi Memorial Grammar School Bori(Gokana Zone), Isiokpo Council Hall(Ikwerre Zone), County Grammar School Ikwerre/Etche(Etche Zone), Kalabari National College(Buguma), Bonny National Grammar School(Bonny zone).
