The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE A.s.b.l.), established in 1948, is an association of national committees representing academic, industrial and student interests in over 80 countries. IAESTE is an international exchange programme with partner agencies in these countries and it is the largest science and engineering exchange programme of it

s kind. As an independent non-governmental organization, IAESTE has operational relations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and maintains a consultative relationship with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It provides students of science, engineering, technology and the applied arts with paid, course-related, technical training abroad. IAESTE aims to operate a high quality practical training exchange programme in order to enhance technical and professional development and to promote international understanding, and mutual relationship amongst students, academic institutions, employers and the wider community. Students acquire relevant technical experience lasting from 6 weeks to 12 months.
