The prize-giving segment recognized outstanding students in various categories, including academic achievement, sports, and art. The awards were presented with great fanfare, and the recipients were met with thunderous applause.

The event also showcased the school's commitment to arts and culture, with students delivering impressive performances in music, dance, and drama. The graduands' address was a heartfelt expression of gratitude and reflection on their journey through the school.

Empowering Young Girls in Tech: Our Experience at International Girls in ICT Day 2024

On April 30, 2024, our school, High-Tech International School, had the privilege of participating in the International Girls in ICT Day celebration at the American Space, Professor Iya Abubakar Resource Center in Bauchi. Organized by Zee Tech Foundation, this inspiring event aimed to encourage young girls to explore the vast opportunities in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) fields.

The celebration kicked off with a motivating opening ceremony, featuring influential women leaders in the tech industry. They shared their personal stories of success, emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the ICT sector. Our girls were inspired by the speakers' encouragement to pursue their dreams fearlessly and break gender barriers in the tech world.

Throughout the day, our girls engaged in thought-provoking discussions on women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), ICT career opportunities, and overcoming gender biases in the tech industry. Experts and young professionals shared valuable insights and advice, introducing our girls to various aspects of ICT, including coding, robotics, and online safety.

The highlight of the event came when four girls, including two from our school, were called on stage and awarded monetary gifts for their outstanding knowledge of ICT. Amatullah Adam received a 5,000 naira gift, while Aishatu Ismail and two other students from different schools received 2,000 naira each.

As someone who is also on the tech journey, I felt incredibly proud to see our girls excel and showcase their skills. The International Girls in ICT Day celebration 2024 was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all participants. It provided our girls with valuable insights, skills, and opportunities to explore the vast potential of ICT fields.

In conclusion, this event served as a catalyst for promoting girls' participation in the tech industry. It showcased the limitless possibilities for girls in ICT and reaffirmed the importance of creating inclusive spaces where all individuals can thrive. We are grateful to our proprietor, Sir Ahmad Yahaya, for providing us with this opportunity to attend and grow.

To all the ladies in this house, I urge you to embrace the tech journey! The world is rapidly advancing in technology, and we must not be left behind. You don't need to be a computer science graduate to participate – anyone can do it with passion, discipline, and patience. Let's seize this opportunity and make a difference in the tech world!

Students of JSS3 from our School embarked on insightful excursion to the Gubi Water Treatment Plant yesterday.

We were welcomed warmly by the manager. We learned about the plant's rich history, with the dam's construction in 1979 and the treatment plant's completion from 1979 to 1982. Impressively, the plant boasts a maximum capacity of supplying 75 million liters of treated water daily. Our experience encompassed a detailed exploration of the water treatment process, covering stages from inlet collection to pumping station. Notably, the process includes chemical addition for coagulation, clarification involving flocculation and sedimentation, filtration using sand and gravels, and finally, pneumatic pumping for distribution. This educational outing provided invaluable insights into water treatment, aligning with our curriculum and fostering a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship.

Career Day 2024

Parallel to the intense academic atmosphere is the hope that students will choose some path. A way that fascinates and inspires them. The driving zeal become a professional in prominent areas. The objective of the career day in Hight-Tech International School (HIS) Bauchi is to expose children to various exciting opportunities that lie before them to choose and specialize in, such as Law, press and Journalism, Medicine and Healthcare, Banking and Financial Sciences, Engineering, Military, Teaching, Business and Vocation.

Children received massive encouragement and guidance on each career they chose and lectured on the contributions that the said field offers to the advancement of human life. These important lessons were made close-at-hand by the formidable staff of HIS to intensify the already existing passion thriving in the children’s hearts.

Children on the other hand were not adamant to throw in some words woven with actions. Immediately, dramas, presentations and poems were delivered by representatives of each career group which made the session a great experience for children and their teachers.

High-Tech International School JSS2B Rocks the Airwaves at Bauchi Globe FM!

Excitement crackled like static electricity as the JSS2B class of High-Tech International School piled into the bus, destination: Bauchi Globe FM! Our mission? To explore the magical world of radio and see how voices travel through thin air to captivate thousands.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mr. Abdullahi, our enthusiastic host, whose smile was as bright as the radio station's colorful logo. He whisked us away on a whirlwind tour, starting with the control room. Dials, buttons, and blinking lights filled the space, looking like a spaceship ready to launch into a sonic adventure. Mr. Abdullahi explained how DJs use these tools to control music, adjust sound levels, and even talk to listeners live!

Next, we peeked into the recording studio. Imagine our delight when Mr. Abdullahi invited two brave volunteers to step inside and record their own radio announcement! Their nervous giggles soon transformed into confident declarations as they spoke into the microphone, their voices echoing through the speakers with newfound importance.

But the real magic happened in the broadcasting booth. One by one, we donned headphones and took turns speaking into the microphone, our voices amplified and beamed out to the city! Hearing our own voices travel through the airwaves was an electrifying experience, leaving us wide-eyed and buzzing with excitement.

The visit wasn't just about fun and games, though. Mr. Abdullahi also shared valuable lessons about the importance of clear communication, teamwork, and responsibility that goes into creating a successful radio show. We learned about different program formats, the power of storytelling, and the impact radio can have on communities.

Leaving Bauchi Globe FM, we weren't just schoolchildren anymore. We were budding broadcasters, our imaginations buzzing with the possibilities of radio. Who knows, maybe one day, one of us will be the next voice captivating audiences across the airwaves!

This trip wasn't just an educational visit; it was an unforgettable adventure that opened our eyes to the fascinating world of radio and ignited a passion for communication in our young hearts. The memories, like a catchy tune, will stay with us for a long time to come!
