PROFILE
HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Muhaz Orphans and Vulnerable School was established by Abdulkarim Muhammad Isah and Lauratu Sani
Matori on 2nd October 2018, after series of research and findings on different ways of supporting and helping
Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria .
We arrived at a soft landing on how to help them achieved their future ambitious by establishing this noble
school called MUHAZ ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE SCHOOL in Bauchi.
A private school that gives free education to orphans and vulnerable children from Nursery level to junior
secondary school level. The school is registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission and Bauchi State
ministry of Education .
The National guidelines and standard of practice on orphans and vulnerable children produced by the
federal ministry of women affairs and social development 2007,section 4 .2. 6 with the heading minimum
package of services and rights.
The first package on the section is Education . " Education is an important requirement for the complete
development of a child." that schools can provide children with the opportunities for emotional supports,
interaction with other children and the development of social network ..Despite the availability of
opportunities for education through the Universal Basic Education policy , many orphans and vulnerable
children are not accessing or effectively participating in education due to poverty , school levies, caring of
sick parents ,lack of educational materials and low political commitment to Orphans and Vulnerable Children
educational issues .
The school started with 23 orphans and 8 vulnerable children with a director ,the headmaster and 3 teachers.
Muhaz Orphans and vulnerable school presently has 68 orphans and 34 vulnerable children with 5 fulltime
teachers and 8 volunteers with minimum qualification of National certificate in education (N C E ) . We have
Nursery1 and 2 ,primary 1, 2, 3 and 4 . The school has the support of the community as it sources of getting the right orphans and vulnerable children . The schools also give admissions to orphans from different orphans
foundation e.g Rahama Orphans and Vulnerable Foundation Bauchi .
.
