15 Tips I Would Give to Incoming Freshers of ATBU — By Gabata Muftee
1. You are not graduating anytime soon!!!
If your course na 5 years, just know say na 5 years + X. Adjust your mindset early.
2. Run away from Babylon Hostel and CBN Hostel — them dirty!
If you’re a guy, your life no really differ anywhere sha.
3. As a lady, no let Kaftan Comrades collect your number.
If you give them once, congratulations — you now have a new “check-up” manager.
4. Follow the masses dressing code.
Student Affairs & Security no dey hear “fashion”, just wear what won’t stress you.
5. No let Engineering boys near you.
Highest population + highest cruise + highest stress = danger.
6. Always ask your seniors for past questions.
PQ is your survival kit. It will save your CGPA from early damage.
7. If you’re not prepared to be serious, don’t come to Engineering.
That place no get “soft life” button.
8. Attend lectures — especially the boring ones.
9. Don’t be forming big boy/big girl in 100 level.
Calm down. Everyone sabi you’re new. Focus on learning the system.
10. Join associations and clubs.
Networking no be scam — your future opportunities fit start here.
11. Avoid unnecessary beef, friendship pressure, or relationship wahala.
School stress already enough. No add bonus stress.
12. Buy a power bank.
Light situation sometimes go show you shege.
13. Move with people wey get sense.
Your circle determines the type of trouble you’ll see (or escape).
14. Read your handbook. Seriously.
Many fresher tears come from ignorance of small small school rules.
15. Enjoy your stay!
ATBU hard, but e sweet if you balance books with enjoyment.
