Advise to all Men

1. You cannot settle all financial expenses in one day. Those who did are stressfully sick and some are buried already.

2. Please create time to rest, it is not a sin to sit down , put up your legs on the table and pick popcorn whilst reading a book or just relaxing

3. Please sleep if need be; that headache will go. Those who refuse to take vacation, or leave, or time out or rest time, their families are missing them because they have gone untimely to their maker.

4. Stop taking sedatives to sleep, you are destroying your brain and organs. At a point you will begin to forget things. Relax the brain , worry less, think less, laugh more , smile more. Everything will pass with time.

5. Sometimes go and sit outside quietly on your own, do nothing say nothing , just admire God's handiwork, breathe in fresh air calmly. Hurry not.

6. Stand by your mirror smile to yourself, laugh , dance, sing, that turns on a positive aura around you so you can glow.

7. Get yourself a healthy snack with healthy juice. Just do something for yourself, so you offload the things in your head.

8. If you are not feeling well say it , do something about it, go to health centre, hospital or call a nearby nurse, do not sit around, your life matters .

9. Check your blood pressure and sugar level occasionally, whether you are sick or not. It has saved a lot of men in the past. Trust me on this.

Remember to tell all the men you love and let them enjoy life in good health and abundance.

You are all important and must take care of yourselves.

Advice to all Men.

BENIN CITY ARCHDIOCESE ANNOUNCES NEW PASTORAL POSTINGS FOR PRIESTS

Appointments approved by the Apostolic Administrator take effect on 29 September 2026

The Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City has announced new pastoral postings for priests serving within the Archdiocese, with the appointments taking effect on Tuesday 29 September 2026. The appointments, approved by the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City, Most Rev. Donatus Ogun OSA, are part of the Archdiocese’s continuing pastoral responsibility to ensure the effective proclamation of the Gospel and the provision of sacramental, spiritual and pastoral care to the People of God entrusted to its ministry.

The new postings include assignments to various parishes and Catholic institutions across the Archdiocese. Among those receiving new appointments are newly ordained priests who are beginning their first pastoral assignments following ordination, thereby commencing a new chapter in their participation in the priestly mission of Christ and the evangelising mission of the Church.

New Pastoral Assignments

The newly announced assignments are as follows:

Rev. Fr Charles Obiora — Assumption Catholic Church, Uteh

Rev. Fr Paul Ofili — St Gregory Catholic Church, Ohovbe

Rev. Fr Paul Musa — Holy Cross Cathedral, Mission Road

Rev. Fr Paul-Miki Umeh — St John Vianney Catholic Church, Evbukhu

Rev. Fr Michael Ejim — St Paul Minor Seminary

Rev. Fr Emmanuel Okon — St Albert Catholic Church, UNIBEN

Rev. Fr Emmanuel Obiasogu — Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Iguosa

Rev. Fr Victor Onwukaike — St Matthew Catholic Church, Ogba

Rev. Fr Aloysius Nweke — St Michael College, Ikueniro

Rev. Fr Cornelius Ezetoha — St Andrew Catholic Church, Aruogba

Rev. Fr Solomon Okeke — St Maria Goretti, Dumez Road

Priestly Ministry as Service to the People of God

The new pastoral appointments underscore the ecclesial nature of the priesthood, through which priests are called to serve Christ and His Church in communion with their bishop and in the midst of the Christian community. Their ministry embraces the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the other sacraments, the proclamation of the Word of God, preaching, catechesis, spiritual direction and accompaniment, pastoral visitation, evangelisation and the strengthening of Christian communities.

For the newly ordained priests, these assignments represent an important transition from the period of priestly formation into the concrete realities of pastoral ministry. Having been formed for service at the altar and in the wider mission of the Church, they are now called to bring the Gospel into the daily lives of the faithful entrusted to their pastoral care. Their ministry will require close collaboration with their brother priests, religious men and women, parish pastoral councils, the lay faithful, catechists, seminarians, teachers, youth and other members of the ecclesial communities in which they will serve. The assignments therefore go beyond a change of location or pastoral responsibility; they represent a mission entrusted by the Church, calling each priest to make Christ present among His people through faithful service, sacramental ministry, compassionate pastoral care and the proclamation of the Gospel.

A Call to Communion and Prayer

The faithful are encouraged to welcome the priests warmly in their new places of assignment and to support them in the exercise of their pastoral responsibilities. They are also urged to accompany them with prayer, recognising that fruitful priestly ministry depends not only on pastoral structures but also on the grace of God and the active participation of the entire ecclesial community. For the priests, the new appointments are an invitation to embrace their ministry with humility, fidelity, availability and a deep spirit of ecclesial communion, remaining attentive to the spiritual and pastoral needs of the people entrusted to their care.

As the appointments take effect on 29 September, the Archdiocese entrusts the priests and their respective ministries to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the grace of Christ the Eternal High Priest, praying that their service may strengthen the faith of the People of God, deepen the sacramental and spiritual life of the Christian communities and advance the Church’s mission of evangelisation. In their various places of assignment, may the newly appointed priests and their brother priests remain faithful instruments of Christ, who continues to shepherd His Church through those called to share in His priestly ministry.

Today in the Diocese of Lokoja, Rev. Timothy Senibi had the joy of witnessing the diaconate ordination of his grandson.

Rev. Timothy is a permanent deacon, one of the relatively few permanent deacons in Nigeria. Permanent deacons are ordained for a lifelong diaconal ministry and, unlike transitional deacons preparing for priesthood, they can marry, but before their ordination. A married man must have his wife’s consent before being ordained a permanent deacon. Once ordained, however, a deacon cannot marry if he becomes a widower.

His grandson, on the other hand, was ordained a transitional (transitory) deacon, taking the final diaconal step on the way to priesthood.

Rev. Timothy did not only give himself to the service of God; he has also been blessed to see a grandson from his own lineage offer himself to that same service.

"14 Seminarians of Catholic Diocese of Makurdi Expelled for Using iPhones."

It has been reported that about 14 seminarians have been expelled from the seminary by the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi and the news has been trending on social media with so many people feeling uncomfortable with the decision of the church.

Before I give my take on the issue, I want to let you know that I WAS ALSO WITHDRAWN FROM PURSING MY DESIRE TO BECOME A PRIEST. In fact, I was present at the event that triggered the expulsion of the said seminarians. It was the 2026 priestly ordination of the diocese and about four of the ordinands (now priests) were my classmates, we started the journey together. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the end, but was present to withness it by the mercies of God.

Having stated the above, here is my take.....

I stand with the church, the bishop and the formators of those guys. I'm in full support of the decision to send the guys back to their parents. They should go and explore other walks of life.

There are professions (vocations) that no single warning signs should ever be ignored no matter how infinitesimal. Examples of such professions or vocations include TEACHING, MEDICINE, PRIESTHOOD etc. This is because they deal directly with humans and one single mistake from the professionals is capable of ruining millions of lives.

I don't even know why social media must read meaning into everything without thinking deeper about its' future implications.

Seminarians, future priests supposedly attended an ordination that is full of liturgy yet refused to kneel down even when the congregation including all priests and the two bishops were kneeling during the chanting of the Litany of the Saints.

Which Catholic sees a bishop kneeling during a liturgy and they're busy seating? As who—God? We could excuse that for other faithfuls, but certainly not for seminarians who ought to be very much knowledgeable of the church doctrine.

The way some of those boys in the seminary behave nowadays, one begins to wonder whether or not the discipline and training Catholic seminaries were known for are no longer in place. I personally saw some of them "gisting" and operating their phones during the Mass on that day yet some uninformed folks are critical of the church for their expulsion.

DON'T YOU THINK THOSE FOLKS WILL CHANGE THE LITURGY TO SOOTHE THEM WHEN THEY BECOME PRIESTS?

I keep telling people, if you can't abide by the rules of an organization or system, leave it. But if you see that the rules need reformation, follow the right process to reform them instead of doing as you want. Seminarians and priests now compete on who uses the most expensive gadgets. Shame!

It's funny how some of the people who criticize some modern priests for their liturgical abuse still criticizing the church now for being rigid. What kind of confusion is this?

Dear you,

If you're not comfortable with the decision of Bishop Anagbe and his team of formators, go and establish your seminary and make those guys the formators.

JUST A SMILE 😀
(Power of smiling)

She was sent to buy a Loaf of Bread, but She brought the Bakery home: Her Uncle who was coming back from School saw her and took a picture and video of this Girl carrying a Loaf of Albany Bread She bought while She was running home in the mud. He captured the genuine and innocent happiness on her face.
The picture went viral. People said it’s the kind of picture they would like to associate with the Bread. Soon after, the picture is all over on billboards and trucks of Albany.
Albany recognised Lethukukhanya Mjaji, the beautiful 5 years old Girl that warmed South Africans with her radiant genuine smile.
People requested that Albany put up a billboard with this beautiful picture. Albany responded by making physical contact with the parents.
The little Girl has gotten a full education bursary till She graduates, and the single Mother has gotten a new house. The little Girl remains an Albany Bread brand ambassador for a while.

A smile can work wonders in so many ways 🙂

THE ROLE OF THE MASTER OF CEREMONIES IN THE LITURGY (Cf. Liturgia Papal)

In many parishes, it is customary to position the master of ceremonies to the left of the principal celebrant throughout the Mass. This practice stems from an imitation of papal celebrations. However, replicating this arrangement in a parish setting is often a functional error that hinders the flow of the liturgy.

In papal celebrations, the master of ceremonies remains by the Pontiff's side. This works perfectly because papal liturgy relies on robust logistics: there are typically six papal masters of ceremonies and six assistant masters of ceremonies. While the master of ceremonies attends to the Pope, an entire team coordinates the lectors, acolytes, concelebrants, and gift bearers. In a parish, the reality is quite different; there is usually only one master of ceremonies.

Copying the papal model without the accompanying support team is not the best approach. When the sole master of ceremonies remains fixed beside the priest, his most valuable tasks go unattended, and the overall perspective is lost. He cannot direct entrances, exits, or movements within the sanctuary—which is crucial, as lectors, acolytes, and gift bearers are the ones who truly need clear cues on when to act. If the master of ceremonies is stationed next to the celebrant, he cannot accompany them or give timely signals. Turning the pages of the Missal is the least important task of the master of ceremonies; in fact, the principal celebrant is the person most familiar with the ritual and requires the least direct supervision during the prayers.

The master of ceremonies is not the priest's personal assistant; he is the director of the liturgical action. His place should be where he can discreetly coordinate the entire team of ministers, ensuring the dignity, silence, and smooth flow of the celebration. Turning the pages of the Missal is a task an acolyte can perform. The true work of the master of ceremonies is invisible and dynamic, focused on ensuring that every participant acts at the precise moment.
