HAPPY NEW MONTH

As we step into the new month of August 2024, may your days be filled with joy, peace, and renewed strength. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23). May God's unending love and mercy guide you through each day, and may you find hope and comfort in His faithfulness. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of a new month. Bless us with Your presence, protect us from harm, and lead us in Your wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

NO RESPECT FOR PERSONS

Colossians 3:23-25 (KJV)

“23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”

When Jesus returns, Bible states that there will be a rapture, where believers will be taken up to meet him in the air. However, some verses of the Bible suggest that not all Christians will be raptured. Those who are not raptured may face various trials and tribulations during the end times.

According to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, it says, "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." This passage describes the rapture, indicating that believers will be taken up to meet Jesus.

However, in Matthew 24:40-41, Jesus also says, "Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left." This suggests that not all believers will be taken during the rapture.

For those left behind, Revelation 13:16-17 warns of a time when a mark will be required to buy or sell, often interpreted as a mark of allegiance to a worldly power. Additionally, Revelation 20:4 speaks of Christians who are martyred for their faith during the end times, indicating that some believers may face persecution and death.

In summary, while many Christians believe in the rapture as a moment of joy and reunion with Christ, biblical passages also suggest that not all believers will be taken up. Those left behind may face difficult trials, persecution, and even martyrdom for their faith during the end times.

On this Women's Day, I want to celebrate and honor my incredible wife, a true embodiment of the virtues highlighted in Proverbs 31. Her strength, wisdom, and kindness reflect the noble qualities of the virtuous women described in the scripture. Like the Proverbs 31 woman, she is diligent in her endeavors, compassionate in her actions, and a source of inspiration to everyone around her. Today, I salute her resilience, grace, and the immeasurable impact she has on our lives. Happy Women's Day to my remarkable wife, whose virtues shine brightly in the tapestry of our shared journey.

THE DECEITFULNESS OF RICHES

Mark 4:19 “ And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

The biblical verse Mark 4:19 highlights the cautionary message of the deceitfulness of riches. In this context, riches are portrayed as potentially misleading and distracting, diverting believers from spiritual priorities. The pursuit of wealth can become a stumbling block, as it may lead one away from a genuine connection with God. The emphasis here is on the treacherous nature of material abundance, as it has the power to subtly influence priorities and values.

To further underscore this theme, several New Testament verses shed light on the spiritual dangers associated with wealth. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus asserts that one cannot serve both God and money, emphasizing the incompatibility of devotion to material wealth with a sincere commitment to God. Similarly, Mark 8:36 states “ For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”. Jesus speaking in Luke 12:15 said “Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 1 Timothy 6:6-10 says “ But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” Additionally, James 5:1-6 condemns the hoarding of wealth at the expense of others, emphasizing the accountability individuals have regarding their financial resources.

Concluding, 1 Corinthians 8:12 states “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.” These verses collectively portray a consistent biblical message about the potential pitfalls of wealth, urging believers to approach material abundance with discernment and a steadfast commitment to spiritual values. The deceitfulness of riches, as highlighted in Mark 4:19, serves as a timeless reminder of the need for a balanced and God-centered perspective on material prosperity.

Hallelujah 🙌

In 2012, I was a consultant and one of the resource persons at a British Council sponsored programme designed to empower youths with entrepreneurial skills. The training was hosted and facilitated by Benson idahosa University Consultancy Services.

I still love to assist persons to succeed spiritually and financially. Consequently in 2014, I started Believers Business School. A non-campus leadership and entrepreneurial development centre that offers training on contemporary business models using time tested biblical principles.

With a very challenging economic outlook, due to the pandemic and technological development, I hope to share with you some of these principles that will enable you succeed.

Thanks.
