As the third term winds down and schools begin to release results, I’d like to gently remind you of something very important—your child's worth is not determined by their position in class.

Their value, potential, and future are not limited to academic rankings.

Not every gift can be measured by grades. Some children are silently creative, emotionally intelligent, kind-hearted, naturally curious, or unusually resilient—and these qualities can’t always be captured on a school report sheet. And that child of yours, whether or not they made it to the top of the class, still carries within them endless possibilities.

So, when the results come in and they don’t meet your expectations, pause. Take a deep breath. Resist the urge to lash out with hurtful words.

Your reaction in that moment will echo in their hearts far longer than the numbers on their result sheet.

Instead of criticism, offer encouragement. Instead of disappointment, offer understanding. Instead of harshness, offer support.

Because at the end of the day, what every child truly needs is a parent who believes in them—even when the grades don’t reflect their best efforts.

Let them know you see them. Let them know you’re proud of their effort. And most importantly, let them know that your love and belief in them isn’t tied to a class position.

That’s the kind of support that builds confident, resilient, and emotionally secure children.
