Therefore to ascertain the cost of production for one fish, we use the formula below:
Cost of production/fish = Total cost of production
Number of fishes stocked
From the above analysis, it is clear that the total cost of production is ₦100,000 and the number of fishes stocked is 1,000.
Our cost of production/fish = 100,000/1,000 = ₦100
Therefore it cost Farmer Okoro ₦100 to raise 1,000 fishes in 5months.
With this Farmer Okoro can decide on what percentage of margin he can place on the cost of producing one fish depending on the present economic situation.
