6 THINGS TO CHECK BEFORE CREATING YOUR JAMB PROFILE

Before you rush to create your JAMB UTME or Direct Entry (DE) profile, take a few minutes to check your details.

Your JAMB profile information is linked to your NIN record with NIMC, so an error there can follow you into your JAMB registration and admission process. JAMB itself advises candidates to ensure their NIN details agree with their supporting documents.

1️⃣ CHECK YOUR FULL NAME

Make sure your surname, first name and middle name are correctly spelt and arranged on your NIN.

2️⃣ CHECK YOUR DATE OF BIRTH

Confirm that your date of birth is correct. Don't assume you can simply fix it later on JAMB.

3️⃣ CHECK YOUR OTHER PERSONAL DETAILS

Review your s*x, state of origin, LGA and other biodata on your NIN and ensure they are accurate.

4️⃣ MAKE SURE YOUR NIN DETAILS MATCH

Your JAMB registration information should correspond with the information held by NIMC. JAMB's guidance specifically tells candidates to ensure their NIN particulars tally with their other supporting documents.

5️⃣ FIND AND CORRECT ERRORS EARLY

If you discover an error, don't wait until after JAMB registration. Correct the information through the appropriate NIMC process and ensure the correction is properly reflected before proceeding.

Don't assume an affidavit alone will automatically change your JAMB record. JAMB has procedures for corrections based on updated NIMC information.

Check first. Create your profile afterwards.

📢 UPDATE: UNIBEN DIRECT ENTRY (DE) ADMISSION

Many candidates have been asking about Direct Entry (DE) Admission. Here's what you need to know.

Who can apply through Direct Entry?
Direct Entry admission is for candidates with qualifications such as:

✅ JUPEB
✅ IJMB
✅ University Degree
✅ HND
✅ ND/Diploma
✅ NCE
✅ College of Education/Nursing qualifications
✅ Polytechnic qualifications
✅ Other approved A'Level qualifications

Eligibility for Direct Entry Admission

1️⃣ Post-DE Screening Score

Unlike UTME candidates:
There is no JAMB score to divide by 8.
Your Post-DE screening score is not divided by 2.
Your actual score is used.

Example:
If you score 50/100, your admission score remains 50.

2️⃣ A'Level Qualification

Your previous qualification also plays an important role.

Generally:
🎓 University Degree: Minimum of Second Class Lower (CGPA 3.50)
🎓 ND, HND, NCE and other Polytechnic/College qualifications: Minimum of Lower Credit
🎓 JUPEB & IJMB: Admission is based on the point obtained during the programme.

3️⃣ How Admission is Determined

Admission is based on a combination of:
✅ Your Post-DE Screening Score
➕
✅ Your A'Level Grade or Points

The stronger both are, the higher your chances of securing admission into your preferred course.

4️⃣ When Will DE Admission Be Released?

Unlike UTME candidates, UNIBEN Direct Entry admission is not released together with Post-UTME admission.

This is because the University first waits for:
The conclusion of the UNIBEN JUPEB examinations, and
The release of JUPEB results and points.
Only then does the University process Direct Entry admissions.

📊 WAEC 2026 WASSCE RESULTS: OVER 1.2 MILLION CANDIDATES QUALIFY FOR ADMISSION

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the statistics for the 2026 WASSCE.

Here are the key highlights:

📌 1,959,668 candidates registered for the examination.
📌 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination.
👨 953,459 (48.88%) were male candidates.
👩 997,267 (51.12%) were female candidates.
📌 1,834,695 (94.05%) results have been fully processed and released.
⚠️ 167,486 (8.59%) results were withheld for various reasons.
✅ 1,687,378 candidates (86.50%) obtained at least five credits, with or without English Language and Mathematics.
🎉 1,200,514 candidates (61.54%) obtained five credits including English Language and Mathematics—the minimum requirement for admission into most Nigerian universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and many other tertiary institutions.
🏫 The examination was conducted across 24,207 centres nationwide.

What This Means for Candidates

For the 1.2 million+ candidates who obtained five credits including English and Mathematics, you're now eligible to pursue admission into tertiary institutions, subject to meeting your institution's admission requirements.

If you're planning to apply or have applied for Post-UTME, Direct Entry, or other admission processes, now is the time to begin preparing your documents and monitoring admission updates, also to upload your olevel result to JAMB CAPS.
