VACANCY FOR GERMAN LANGUAGE TEACHER @ AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE
SCOPE:
To provide ongoing tutorial based upon excellent course materials
OBJECTIVE:
To ensure customer satisfaction at the academic level and offer an environment in which students can practice their oral skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provision of tutorial sessions for all levels
• Provide counseling to prospective students
• Provide new students with a thorough introduction to the school’s learning system including multimedia materials
• Adjust teaching styles to meet the needs of the students
• Prepare long-term teaching programs and daily lessons in accordance with the guidelines of the school's education system.
• Help all students to structure their learning experience
• Understand the diverse background students come from, their strengths, weaknesses and areas of interest.
• Ensure that students progress through the levels; check that learning has been effective, set and evaluate assignments, administer the exam for each level, give or withhold permission to go on to the next level.
• Help to resolve students questions about the language and sort out any difficulties they may experience with the materials
• Supervise student conduct during class, lunchtime and other breaks.
• Must know the learning materials and system intimately
• Understand and implement the use of information technology in lesson preparation and teaching.
• Provide activities and materials that engage and challenge the students intellectually.
• Contribute to the creation, building up, testing and maintenance of support materials for use in tutorial and conversation sessions
• Run conversation classes that is engaging, effective and fun
Identify language problems and gather feedback on abilities /progress of individual learners
• Encourage students to attend tutorials, conversational classes, self access center and social events
• Attendance at social events and fostering of conviviality
