Global Handwashing Day 2025 – Be a Handwashing Hero!

Today, our school celebrated Global Handwashing Day during assembly. The program began with a meaningful speech by our Health Councillor, highlighting why handwashing is essential for staying healthy and preventing the spread of germs.

Following the speech, Staff demonstrated the correct steps of handwashing. All pupils then joined in, practicing the proper technique together—becoming handwashing heroes right in our school!

This year’s theme, “Be a Handwashing Hero!”, reminds us that simple actions like washing hands at the right times—before eating, after using the toilet, and after playing—can protect ourselves and others from diseases.

Why handwashing matters:
• Prevents the spread of germs and infections.
• Keeps our school community healthy.
• Helps pupils stay well and ready to learn.

Remember: washing hands properly before eating, after using the toilet, after playing outside, or after coughing/sneezing can make a huge difference. Every small action counts!

Let’s all practice proper handwashing every day and be heroes for our health!
