SUREFUTURE EDUCATION FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ACTIVITIES IN NSIT UBIUM
.. pledges support for educational advancement in A'Ibom and beyond
No fewer than Fifty (50) students from five (5) selected secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State have benefited from the UTME Scholarship Examination Initiative of the SureFuture Education Foundation (SEF).
The founder of the Foundation, Dr. Faith E. E. Umoh, disclosed this during the inauguration of SureFuture Education Foundation in Atan, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
Dr. Faith E. E. Umoh noted that the SureFuture Education Foundation, which has the slogan, "Your future is forever sure," is a charitable registered Non-profitable NGO. It has facilitated different educational advancement programs in line with the E-Education component of the Arise Agenda of Governor Umo Eno and will continue.
She explained that the foundation was created out of a burning desire to build, touch lives, give hope, and raise a generation from the less privileged, deprived, vulnerable, and persons living with disabilities that will be of immense support to sprouting generations. She added that 10 students have been chosen from 5 secondary schools in Nsit Ubium LGA for the pilot survey of the project.
Dr. Faith E. E. Umoh, who is also the Founder of Lordswill Academy, Gwarinpa, Abuja, FCT, charged the students to focus on the accomplishment of their vision. She emphasized that her passion for the girl child and education were inspired by her father's emphasis on her education. The foundation aims not only at scholarship schemes, supporting, mentoring, schools/deprived and persons with disabilities but also plans to assist women in discovering and maximizing their potentials as well as increasing their chances to take their right place in society regardless of their peculiarities. She announced that the foundation would welcome benefactors, volunteers, as well as champions to partner with her in achieving the aims and objectives of the NGO.
The PDP Chairman, Itreto Ward, Nsit Ubium L.G.A, Hon. Nsemo Sylvester Ukpong, commended Dr. Faith Umoh for establishing the SureFuture Education Foundation, assuring students that their future is indeed sure through education.
Notable dignitaries, including the Guest Speaker, the Village head of Ikot Imo, Etteidung Dr. Raymond Timothy Ekpo(KSM), a Retired Secondary School Principal, emphasized the value of education, warning against cultism. Hon. Emmanuel Cletus Eshiet, Member representing Itreto ward in Nsit Ubium Transition Committee, who represented RT Hon Onofiok Akpan Luke at the event as the Special Guest of Honour, urged students not to take the opportunity lightly, emphasizing that the significance of education is achieving success. RT. Honourable Luke congratulated the Founder and promised to support the foundation. Honourable Akaniyene Okon, PA 11 to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, who is one of SEF’s very committed and dedicated Ambassadors, was in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Foundation runs a center fully equipped with high-bandwidth Internet connectivity for e-learning and a Library for UTME/SSCE/NECO preparatory Programs for beneficiaries at ATAN, Itreto ward, Nsit Ubium LGA. Additionally, Dr. Faith Umoh mentioned that she has registered some independent UTME candidates, some of whom are from other LGAs, who had completed their SSCE/NECO, further expanding the foundation's impact on education in the state.
