“At one point, a pilot who flew me shared that he had received a scholarship from me to learn how to fly. A Reverend Father who also ministered here said he benefited from my scholarship as well — even though I have never met him before.
This is the kind of country I envision — one where people can rise and attain positions based on merit, without needing to know anyone.
I recall meeting a young man working in a restaurant in Abuja who told me he graduated with a first-class degree. It raises a serious question: how can someone so qualified end up in such a position?
Furthermore, I make this clear: if any contractor can come forward with verifiable evidence that they were awarded a contract during my time in government and that I demanded a percentage from it, I will immediately quit politics.”
