So, I have been seeing a lot of "holiday lesson is the biggest scam, it's a waste of resources" kinda post lately and I have this to say:

I need you to understand that holiday lesson is tailored for your own good as a parent. Please tell me, will your child who is in kindergarten be sent to a skill acquisition center? I don't think so.

Some will now argue that they are referring to those in primary and secondary school. Alright, sending your child who will be transcending into junior secondary school to a computer center to learn graphics or any other computer skills is a very good one.

However, you must have a computer at home that would aid that child. If you don't own one, how can that child practice what he or she has learnt? Can't you see that you are the one scamming yourself here?

Some parents argue that the children need to play. Having them sent to lesson is an overload and this will weary them. I don't see a lesson center which starts from 6am to 6pm. Most lesson begins at 9am and ends at 12pm.

Again, most schools run their lessons from Monday to Thursdays only. Children have ample time and even days to play.

Some others insist that their children should travel to the village so they would know their "root". Lol, if your children have to travel to your village in August to know your "root", please what do they travel during festive periods to know? Your "stem or branches" I guess.

Some parents insist that their teens should learn skills like tailoring, hair dressing etc during this period. That's okay, please do well to provide them with the necessary equipments if not they would forget everything as they grow older. Trust me on that.

You should understand that school owners are not ignorant of the times we are in. Most or a good number of them have incorporated skills acquisition into their curriculum just to give your children the best.
