But in the midst of this, one woman has chosen to make a difference — Dr.Tina Zuoere

From Nigeria to Kenya: A Celebration of Independence, Humanity and the Spirit of Giving

MOMBASA, KENYA — The spirit of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and Bayelsa State’s 30th Anniversary travelled beyond the shores of Nigeria as Batch B of the King Kendrick Idiseye Foundation and Team Tina marked the historic milestones with an outreach to an orphanage in Mombasa, Kenya.

The humanitarian gesture took place while members of Team Tina were in Kenya for a vacation, transforming an ordinary holiday into an opportunity to demonstrate compassion, service and the values of humanity.

Rather than limiting the celebration to festivities, the team chose to share love with vulnerable children, reminding the public that true celebration is not only about what we receive, but also about what we give to others.

The outreach reflects the philosophy of the King Kendrick Idiseye Foundation and Team Tina: that humanity has no borders and that acts of kindness can create bridges between communities, nations and cultures.

AN EDUCATIONAL LESSON IN LEADERSHIP AND HUMANITY

The initiative also carries an important lesson for young people and emerging leaders: leadership is measured not only by position, but by impact.

Celebrating national milestones in a foreign country offered the team an opportunity to introduce the Nigerian story to another community while learning from the resilience and experiences of children living in different circumstances.

As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence and Bayelsa marks 30 years of statehood, the outreach reinforces the importance of building a society where patriotism is expressed through service, compassion, unity and responsibility.

The team believes that national pride should go beyond flags, ceremonies and speeches. It should also be reflected in how citizens treat the vulnerable and contribute positively to society wherever they find themselves.

This double celebration is a testament to resilience, unity, and hope. Nigeria at 66 stands as a symbol of strength and greatness, while Bayelsa at 30 represents growth, grace, and the enduring spirit of the Ijaw nation.

From henceforth, please do not approach me or the King Kendrick Foundation with requests for awards, award sponsorships, recognition programs, or similar activities. These are not the primary mandate of my Foundation, and I will no longer be entertaining such requests.

I have always believed in supporting my people and empowering our youths, and my kindness has always been extended in good faith. Unfortunately, it has become obvious that some individuals and groups have taken advantage of that kindness and goodwill.

That ends here.

Going forward, please respect this decision and do not put yourselves or my team in an uncomfortable position by bringing such requests to me. Any attempt to do so will be declined immediately and, where necessary, the circumstances will be made public to protect my name, my Foundation, and the integrity of what we stand for.
