City of Dreams

cont. of episode 1

That same night, they were alone and there was no place to sleep nor do they have where to go. That night, they made a bed using leftover planks behind a shop owned by a carpenter. They laid together those planks to create a bed space where they could sleep and be safe.

Omawumi had a worn-out hat in her hands, a tattered relic passed down from her grandmother. It was more than just an accessory; it was a symbol of her roots, a reminder of where she came from, and gave her hope for where she was going. The city's harshness had not dulled Omawumi's determination. She looked at her friend, her eyes reflecting the streetlights, and she whispered, "We can't give up now. Our dreams are our lifeline, and we'll figure out how to make them come true."

Her friend nodded, and they faced the dark night together, with hope lighting their way. As the night went on, suspense hung heavily in their hearts. "What would tomorrow bring ?“

Omawumi and her friend were ready to carve their path, guided by the light of their dreams and the unshakable spirit that dwelled within them.

CITY OF DREAMS

EPISODE 1

In the city of Lagos, where countless hearts called home. But for Omawumi and her friend, it was a place of doubt and severe hardship.

They were not strangers to the harsh reality of homelessness, for fate had bound their lives together in an unexpected way.

Omawumi, a young woman with dreams as big as the city itself, had come from a small village far away. Her dreams were simple yet very deep, she wanted to become a successful entrepreneur and, in doing so, uplift her community from the shades of poverty. Her journey to this point had been filled with trials, but her spirit remained unbroken.

Beside her stood her friend, a city girl with a marketing background. She was kind, ambitious, and determined to make a meaningful impact on her ancestral village, to bridge the gap between her modern life and her roots. The city had molded her, but her heart still longed for the connection to her heritage.

It was evening time when the daylight faded. Omawumi and her friend found themselves on a lonely street. The city, which never slept, its constant noise and activity became so familiar to them that they got used to it.

The Apprentice and his Madam Episode 4

He was very weak but he still had some senses left in him. As madam Benny continued to touch his body, his ground zero arose. A man could be weak but his ground zero can never experience weakness if touched by a woman.

"Please stop." Ibe said weakly. It was getting to that point where he will no longer be able to resist but he was determined.

"Please stop it. This is not right." Ibe said again with his weak voice.

"Shut up and enjoy it. Stop pretending." Madam Benny said. But just then, Ibe lifted one of the plates of food beside him and hit madam Benny on the head and she fell down flat. When she stood up, she ran away from the scene. Since that day, she never tried to seduce Ibe again as she realized that Ibe would never do it.

"Since you have refused to do it, I will lie to your Oga that you r***d me. Just wait until the day of your settlement." Madam Benny said, but Ibe called his bluff. One month later, Mr Johnson returned from his journey and the process of settling Ibe for his 10 years of service began. On the appointed day, Ibe prepared his heart for the worse.

"This young man here has served me faithfully for 10 years. He has never failed to carry out his duties." Mr Johnson said. A lot people g*thered for the event and he was addressing them before he would say the amount of money he is using to settle Ibe.

"He has even passed the last and the most difficult test which I used to give to my apprentices. My wife offered to sleep with him and he refused. I told my wife to test Ibe to see if he would fall for the temptation, but he refused to fall. This means he will be successful in business because any man who can conquer his sexual urge has solved 50 per cent of his problems in life." Mr Johnson said. Ibe was shocked to hear that what her madam was doing was a test.

Ibe was settled properly with N10 million which he used to start his own business.

"I told you that your Oga will not find out. It's just me and you in this big compound. No one else is watching us. Lower your ego and enjoy yourself with me." Madam Benny said. Ibe was still adamant.

"Can you even listen to yourself? What you want us to do is very wrong. If Oga finds out, I will be dead." Ibe said. He was with Madam Benny at the balcony of the one storey building.

"He will not find out. Or, will you be the one to tell him? He won't find out. Enjoy yourself with me and he will still come back from Dubai and settle you." Madam Benny said with a seductive smile on her face.

"No madam. I can't do this. It's a sin against your husband and against God. Please, look for another man." Ibe said with courage in his voice. He is 25 years old and well-built. His physical appearance attracts Madam Benny so much and she has vowed to achieve her aim.

That evening, Madam Benny went into town and bought a few wraps of ma*****na. She knew it could make someone to become weak, so she poured the w**d into a kettle and boiled it. The water turned green. She used the water to prepare a small pot of vegetable soup for Ibe. She also mixed some of the w**d in the soup and then served it to the young man who ate it without knowing. Within 30 minutes after he finished eating, Ibe fell asleep. Madam Benny stood up happily to execute her agenda. She removed her clothes and started to touch Ibe.

"Ibe please come back." Madam Benny called but Ibe ignored her.

It is not the first time she is trying to seduce Ibe. She has done it before and it seems she would never give up until she succeeds.

Mr Johnson, Ibe's boss travelled to Dubai on a business trip and he was put in charge of the man's entire business because of his faithfulness. Mr Johnson had promised to settle Ibe properly when he returns from his journey.

In Igbo tradition, apprenticeship is a cherished practice whereby young people learn trades under an already established business man. After an agreed number of years, the young person is given seed money to start his own business. Ibe has a good plan for himself as he planned to kick off his own importation business when his boss returns.

Mr Johnson has been away for two months and his wife has tried to sleep with Ibe twice. He knew she would try again. One night, she came into his room naked. Ibe got scared and ran away. He has never seen such a desperate woman in his life.

"This woman wants to ruin my life." Ibe said that night as he left the compound. After using many tricks without success, Madam Benny became frustrated and really angry.

"Why are you being stupid? I'm offering you myself on a platter of gold and you are behaving as you have girls that are better than me?" Madam Benny asked when Ibe returned home after spending the night outside.

"I don't think I can do what you are asking me to do. You are asking me to sleep with you. It's a terrible thing and it's a sin too. Remember, you are my boss's wife. No ma, please look for another person." Ibe tells her madam. He was with her in her bedroom as usual. This is not the first she called Ibe to the room to seduce him, but the young man has always rejected the idea.

"Why don't you want to help me? My husband is not always around. I need a man to be servicing me. And here you are telling me you can't do it. I'm pleading with you, nobody will find out." Madam Benny said.

"What if Oga finds out? He will chase me away and he will not settle me. I come from a poor home and I have served my Oga faithfully for nine years. This is the year he will settle me and I don't want to jeopardize it." Ibe said as he left the bedroom.

“Tufiakwa!” Bekee shouted. “I don’t think I’m capable of such treachery.”

“Then, be ready to lose your husband and marriage then.” Adaku said and then stood up and left the room. She knew she had planted a seed in Adaku’s heart and that it would germinate in due time.

That same evening, Chima’s mother arrived from the village with a new wife for her son. The young lady is named Ngozika. By all standards, Ngozika was very charming and she was not a typical village girl. She was seductively dressed and all her curves showed.

Her presence made Bekee feel very intimidated and even threatened. She was deeply hurt.
Matters got worse for Bekee when Ngozika went straight to her matrimonial room and dropped her bag. Chima offered no resistance. In fact, he fell for Ngozika as soon as he set his eyes on her. Only a few men can resist the presence of a beautiful woman offered to them on a platter of gold..

That same night, Bekee moved her things out of the matrimonial room as she wasn’t prepared for the shame. She was the one who hadn't borne a child after five years, so she felt ashamed and oblig*ted to give way to another woman. She occupied another room downstairs. She was very lonely that night and she cried her eyes out.

And then, she remembered the question Adaku her friend had asked her earlier in the evening.
She decided to do something about it and then she paid The Gateman an emergency visit that night. Bekee did not want Ngozika to get pregnant before her. She wants to prove that she is indeed fertile and a proper woman.

“If The Gateman can make me pregnant, then so be it.” Bekee said as she came out of her room and quietly entered The Gateman’s room.

She was prepared to fight and the battle has begun!
