In not too distant past, Nigerian grown crop exports like yam and beans were rejected abroad for reason of excessive chemical discovered while being laboratory tested. Guess what? The chemicals are residue of fertilizer and pesticides sprayed on the crops. But then, ignorance is a disease! If you are a farmer,do you know you can generate safe, chemical free herbicide and fertilizer from the leaves of Neem tree, pepper and garlic, allow it to ferment and spray on your crops to get rid of pests disturbing your crops?!. Apart from internal usage, you can bottle and sell to fellow farmers.... Knowledge is power. *Sacrifices and Gains of an Entrepreneur*

Entrepreneurship is often painted as freedom, money, and being your own boss. The reality is more complicated. Behind every successful business are sacrifices most people don’t see — and gains that go beyond the bank account.

*The Sacrifices*

*1. Time and personal life.*
An entrepreneur trades the 9-to-5 for 7-to-midnight, especially in the first few years. Weekends, holidays, birthdays — the business comes first. Family time shrinks, friendships get tested, and “rest” feels like a luxury.

*2. Financial security.*
Instead of a steady salary, there are unpaid months, personal savings poured into stock or rent, and debts that keep you awake at night. You pay staff before you pay yourself.

*3. Mental peace.*
The stress of making payroll, dealing with failed products, unreliable customers, and government policies (fuel price, taxes, import issues) is constant. Many entrepreneurs battle anxiety and self-doubt quietly.

*4. Comfort and certainty.*
No guaranteed outcome. You can work 12 hours a day for 6 months and still close shop. That uncertainty is the heaviest sacrifice.

*The Gains*

*1. Control over your destiny.*
You decide what to build, who to work with, and where to go. Even when it’s hard, you’re not waiting for someone else’s promotion or permission.

*2. Financial upside.*
When it works, the ceiling is higher than a salary. Profit, assets, and wealth that can change your family’s future in one generation.

*3. Growth and confidence.*
You learn sales, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving — skills no classroom teaches. Every failure becomes a lesson, and you come out sharper.

*4. Impact and legacy.*
You create jobs. You solve a problem in your community. In Lagos, one small poultry, fashion, or logistics business feeds more than just the owner — it feeds suppliers, riders, workers, families.

*The Balance*

Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. The sacrifices are real, and they last lon

* Bank 2026 Business Summit.* Business Opportunities come in different ways and in different colours: access to fund,
access to knowledge,or
access to contact-networking.
In most cases, much emphasis has always been placed on fund over others by not quite a few. Agree, attending trade fairs, business summits, training or workshops will necessarily involves costs, but the likely immediate or future benefits can doubly pay whatever amount expended,if not more. One vital contact met at such a gathering, may change the story of your business for good. In like manner,an info or new knowledge gained could be the game changer for your business.
Times may be hard for individuals and businesses but then let us be optimistic. When you see opportunities to attend gatherings like this, make haste to embrace and explore likely opportunities while appreciating the goodwill of the organizers.
Good money 💰.
