7TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY 2026

This is to inform the general public and, particularly, newly admitted students of the S.M College of Health Science and Technology Akwanga, Nasarawa State. (SMCOHSTA), that the Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Sessions is scheduled to hold as follows:
Date: Saturday, 11th April, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Venue: College premises
Consequently, matriculating students are requested to go to their respective departments for collection of academic gowns.

Matriculating students are, also, expected to be seated at the matriculation ground at 8:00 a.m. prompt.

SM COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AKWANGA

Re-appoint MR. ABDULRAFIU TAOFEEK as Registrar of the college for the Second Term.

The Board of Governing Council of the college held it's regular meeting on the 2nd January, 2026 and officially approved the reappointment of Mr. Abdulrafiu Taofeek as the Substantive Registrar.

The decision came up after the expiration of his first term in office.

The Council also approved the appointment of MRS. HALILU MARYAM as acting Librarian of the college.

All the appointments is with immediate effect.

SMCOHSTA appoints Mrs. Helen Caleb as Acting Provost

SM College of Health Science and Technology, Akwanga (SMCOHSTA) is delighted to announce that Mrs. Helen Caleb has been appointed Acting Provost, following the approval of the college Governing council effective immediately following the tenure of Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq.

The college extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Sadiq for his steadfast leadership, which has elevated the institution to new heights and laid a strong foundation for continued success. We are confident that Mrs. Caleb’s vision and dedication will guide SMCOHSTA toward further excellence.

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great sadness that the management of SMCOHSTA announces the passing of our Beloved Colleague Mr. Akawu Akins Williams ( JP).
He died in the early hour of today @ Federal Medical Centre Keffi,after a brief illness .

Until his death, he is the Head of Department, Community Health, and Local Government Immunization Officer.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to (family/friends/colleagues) during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in peace, and we prayed 🙏 for God to give the family the fortitude to bear the lost. Amen
