African children's rights (New report by London School of Economics)

This report documents the key concerns, insights and aspirations of 599 diverse African children, aged 9-18, from 14 countries, who participated in four child-centred consultations conducted between 2019 and 2024.

It demonstrates that children across Africa are calling on their leaders to step up efforts to secure their rights in relation to the digital environment.

This DFC project spoke to 599 children across 14 countries in Africa, to learn about their digital expoeriences.

We remember and honour a remarkable woman, Yinka Ogunde, whose presence and contribution to our school community will never be forgotten.

Yinka was more than a member of our school family—she was a driving force in helping us embrace transformation, particularly in our journey towards digital awareness and inclusion. Her passion for education and her commitment to tackling inequality were reflected in everything she did.

Through her work and influence, she helped us think differently, act boldly, and ensure that our pupils are not left behind in an ever-evolving world.

We recently took pupils from Hubert Ogunde Memorial School on a visit to the airport — standing beside a Dana Air aircraft, many experiencing it for the very first time.

What stood out wasn’t just the excitement — it was the sense of possibility.

For young minds, exposure matters. It shapes how they see the world and, more importantly, how they see themselves within it.

A simple visit can:
• Spark curiosity about new industries and careers
• Build confidence beyond the classroom
• Turn imagination into something tangible

These are the moments that quietly influence ambition.
