HONORED TO HOST DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARS AT OUR CENTRE
Today was a remarkable day at DRP-WACS WASCAL Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA). We were privileged to welcome two distinguished guests, underscoring the global and academic significance of our work.
Prof. Temi Emmanuel OLOGUNORISA, the Vice Chancellor of OLUSEGUN AGAGU UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY,OKITIPUPA, whose leadership is shaping the future of higher education in Ondo state and Nigeria at large, visited WASCAL DRP-WACS FUTA and engaged the WASCAL Batch 6 Doctoral students from 12 member countries across West Africa in a week-long lecture series titled “Climate Change and Sustainable Development in West Africa.”
Similarly, we received a renowned scholar, an esteemed colleague from Norway, Prof. Samuel Adaramola, a Professor of Renewable Energy from the NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences. The visit of Prof Adaramola was initiated during the just-concluded WASCAL International Conference on Climate Change and Just Energy Transition (I3C-JET) held from October 20 to 24, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our innovative projects, discuss potential collaborative ventures, and strengthen national and international ties between us. We are inspired by the shared commitment to progress and look forward to the future partnerships that were sparked today.
